Just wondering, I see so many people saying that they hate them, I know the last year was a bit bad but surely they must have done something right because you liked the game enough to start playing it. I can fully understand why they sold the game, they are a business that needs to make money, but saying that, I think it is a good thing, they clearly werent going to do anything with the game if it was failing, so it is better that they decided to sell it as we now have a chance of having good regular updates. I'm not sure weather to like or dislike them for that... What do you guys think? :?:

Probably not a good idea to be discussing another gaming company in a thread here Charlie. This is a BVG game forum. Don't forget where you are! ;)

Zynga, the epitome of what happens when monkeys run a buisness.

Up until maybe mid 2011 I was quite happy with Zynga, but things had slowly added up to a point where it became annoying.
Security flaws, releases in a speed that was difficult to follow, changing forum moderators all the time, lack of open and honest communication with us players, etc.
I am grateful that Zynga hosted this game for us and even more grateful they sold to BVG instead of just closing it.
I do prefer BVG so far :)

I dont think they had plans on selling it, more like plans to put it in the garbage until BVG heard about it and stepped in along with the Yo community.

Honestly I was never a fan of Zynga, like never, they made some cool games and because of the larger profit they made of the other games (awfull FarmVille) and less of the cooler games they decided to close them.
And Zynga especially disapointed me for the whole YW thing. :|

The people who play Yo are the reason Yo works. All the game owner can do is make sure the players have a safe, fair, and fun platform to enjoy, with the occasional release of fun items to buy and use as part of their play. Z failed on every part of that sentence in so many ways. I do not hold any ill will for anyone at Z below the executive level, but their execs are worthless in my book. And their founder is a failure at game development and company management. He is rich by accident, and that is real sad. I know people way more deserving.

BVG is a breath of fresh air. I really am excited to see how their new stuff looks. I know they are ironing out the technical crap, but we should see something before the end of the month. :) :) :)

I liked them. I voted 50/50 though. The reason I liked them is because they did host the game for what 5 years? They obviously had done something right. At one point, I remember Zynga and the YoVille fb page having over 11m likes. Then as the years went by it dropped down to like a meer 500k. Idk If I should say this but why not. BVG were the original owners and Zynga bought the game from them. You can't hate Zynga because their last year with Yv was awful, you have to look at what else they did. They made Retros, Naturewoman, all the collectibles in the game and whatever else there was. The only bad thing that everyone seems to hate Zynga for is for almost shutting down Yv. I don't hate them for that, Im sure they weren't thinking about shutting it down in 2011 when they had 11m likes. Im sure they had a valid reason to want to shut down the game.

No vote yet but Zynga Executives made a decision to let us have what we have now in the hands of BVG. Zynga Top Management didnt let the game just died and be buried in the grave. We were even showcased at Tech Crunch one company of one the Top Management/BOD/Stockholder of Zynga.

Personally Zynga made a corporate social responsibility decision too, than we all end up with a trauma in buying/supporting virtual games.

I meant to say instead of just closing it.
Somehow got it twisted.

I think they just sold the game to save face... zynga was getting a lot of negative publicity, and their former track records with former games were being dragged out into the light.

Exactly since Zynga Executives & BOD had a choice not to let BVG have it now and just declined BVG offer.

Ok if that is what you want to think. I respect that dear. ;) However they made a decision that they are into mobile apps and 3D thing which could be the next big thing? We will see if more apps and 3D would be trending in the market in the long run. :)
