So who is updating prices in YoWorld on the price guides? YoRehab or YoPriceville? Theres a big difference on prices on both. Images of diff on my timeline. I have been cleaning out my inventory & surprised to see my items were selling for more than what I sold them for....

I no longer have faith in them..

Scary scissors one week listed between 500 and 600 k next week on yorehab, they 30 to 40 k - priceville still has them at 500 plus. So whats going on there? Feels like an manipulation.

Also I had a Unicorn horn - they have listed it at around 240 k or there abouts max..
My friend saved me from selling it too low - and i relisted it.. it sold for nearly 2mil. So again what is going on there. Are they listing rarer items low so they can snap them up themselves and sell for millions? I DUNNO. But I'm irked. They need to clean their act up.

Good observation

People swear by the guides when all they are are sites put up by players to manipulate prices in their favor

Yes, I just lost quite a bit on my bunny footprints, sold for 75K & on YoPriceVille they sell for 150K so sold for half cheaper than listed..I don't want to get rich off my inventory, but I'm just like everyone else, I want to get what they are worth. No wonder my items have been selling quick!!

Which Price guide do they swear by? Which one is updating? Anyone from BVG following the difference in prices?

Price guides are a misleading source of information. Rather use the average price in the AH to see an items realistic value.

Price guides have been infiltrated by coin sellers who manipulate the price guides to facilitate their selling coins on the black market. Very recently a price guide agent was banned for selling coins. Price guide owners neither have the means nor the capacity to accurately monitoring events, private trades or all the sales in the AH. The price guide people run a shady operation and are not transparent about how they determine their prices, if they were transparent and revealed how they did it, it would reveal their operations to be misleading and fraudulent.

Price guides are there to serve their owners needs, not the needs of the community.

As I said neither - It is just a guide and I no longer trust them. After my Unicorn horn experience. Someone on those sites is laughing all the way to the proverbial bank. Of course the items they want to sell, are really expensive. IMO

I just take a look on both guides and mostly i go by yorehab but sometimes i put my own price, if people don't like the prices i put simply don't buy no worries

People shouldn't really follow priceguides since they are made by players like that, but i would love to see a BVG official priceguide.

Its your item - your price afterall isn't it?

Oh wow, Its hard to trust? Thats too bad, I thought the game was getting better?? It is on BVGs end... but I seen where BVG asked for someone from the price guide to contact them, so I would think BVG would keep an eye on whats going on the price guides ??? Or at least close to the prices?? I guess you're right about it being ran by players, so they want to keep the prices up. Thats sad, cause I use YoRehab to get the initial price & then I compared to YoPriceVille. SMH!!!!!!

I agree these sites are just manipulative sites but either listen to them or make your own prices.

BVG has a lot to take care of and I highly doubt they have time to update every single thing existent in yo history when they need to make there releases better then togas, fix glitches...etc...

If they could do it. I WOULD LOVE IT!

Let me Explain this.
Yorehab and yopriceville only update on items they see selling
So most of the rare items ARE NOT UPDATED
Why??
Because they're so rare they don't see them sell
Don't try to convince me that 08 winter pillows are worth 3k each
I just sold 15 for more than 1m

Right - if not for my friend and the conversation we where having at the time in pm's . she understood my mistake and raced to the ah to buy it. She gave it back to me and explained its rarity and that it was worth way much more than that. Lilygoode saved me millions!! Bless her.

if you actually pay attention, you can tell what items will skyrocket, its the ones you see agents buying in bulk.

How does one see agents buying in bulk?

I use them strictly as a guide. I also see what others are selling items for and go from there.

I am shocked that so many agree with me. I have been saying that for years - usually ending up in a brouhaha with some Agent so and so. A few years ago, I had to compete with one of them to buy 08 blue bulbs (Christmas balls). So I have seen them buy in bulk and I saw the prices rise.

I'm sure everyone knew there was a problem with the price guides but usually someone who works for them strolls in with their friends to try and back up the price guides

It's a seller beware world out there. Check prices on both sites. Look in events. Ask your friends. Check the auction house. If you think it might be worth a lot (very old or very cool, or a collectible) wait a few days and do your research. Because the price guides have always manipulated prices for their own benefit.

There are some honest agents out there who I am sure don't realize how the price guides are manipulated.
