Hey everyone, so after doing my auction for today i decided i would come and share with everyone my story of How i found Yoville(Yoworld), what i did, my past, How i had gotten hacked, how i quit, and how i am here now! If you do not enjoy reading then this is NOT the thread for you! Thanks!

So it all started at around late 08 just brinking into 09... I was on myspace doing my daily "Adding music to playlist" , Posting status' , And talking to friends when i noticed on my game notifications a game called "Yoville" At first i was hesitant but me being a long time gamer (MMO's and whatnot) I thought well, it couldn't be all that bad. I had contacted to person who sent me the request, asking what it was and what it was about. What he had told me changed the way i saw browser games for the rest of my life. I thought "wow, that actually seems pretty amazing!" Because never had i before seen a game in a browser that you could sell and make money in such as we do now.. It was similar to how MMO's worked and i liked it. So i go to the app and click that "Allow" button and bam! This was the beginning of my Yo..World :D.

So i'm in character creating and it looks weird, i'm a bit confused but it wasnt at all hard to tell what was what and i , eventually , made my toon. So i'm ingame and i am TOTALLY confused, i didn't know what to do! I didn't know how to communicate with people, how to go to events, or even how to go to the factory!! When i first figured out how to make an event my FIRST event was "HI :)" LOL. But it payed off in the end, i had met some incredibly nice people! They could tell i was new and decided to help me out.. they explained events, they explained the factory and so much more. They gave me a few items and they gave me a little bit of coin to start me off with. By that time i felt amazing, i felt like i could own the world!

So given this advice i worked my way up..

2010 to 2011 -

This was when things for me started to get good, but bad at the same time.. I was buying and selling like a mad man! I did this regularly and it ended me up in a bad position and i ende dup hurting quite a few friends..Shamefully admitted. I was so consumed in buying and selling that i RARELY took the time to chat with friends and this made me feel horrible.. Needless to say i took the time from then on out.. Let's go to 2011, now at this point i had TONS of stuff, I was doing quite well in Yoville and i was proud of myself.. As i was browsing through the events i noticed something.. "Free Sand Castle" At the time i was all about them and i thought they were worth tons but boy was i wrong.. I go to the site and enter in my details (I KNOW..STUPID) Now this is the very first time i have EVER been stupid enough to do something like this; this person went into my account while i was asleep, took my stuff (And my beloved 09 Mr.Snow!! That was my fav costume!) I was devastated.. I contacted the game owners and they did NOTHING!! They wouldn't help me what so ever! So here i am, coinless, item less, and a sand castle in the middle of my apartment..

I had given up.

2011-2012

I had quit the game by the end of 2011, but come 2012 i was feeling the urge to play once again, i had logged back on feeling these horrible memories flowing back to me, knowing that i had done something so so stupid. I didn't let that bother me though, i took that sand castle and i sold it! I was back into it and ready for round two! Same goes for the beginner years, nothing but buying and selling but this time i made sure to keep in close contact with my friends, always giving them time no matter what..

2013 and Now.
Sadly by 2013 i had quit again due to life problems.. I had gotten into an arguement with my mother then and things took a very bad turn for the worse, it was endless drama, my father dumped me off at my mo... That's a story for another time.. Anyways... I had quit again and in the process gave away 12 million in coins, and 5million in items..

NOW!

I came back at around late 2013, beginning of 2014.. Learning that Yo was going to be shut down tore me in 500 different little pieces, i was truly devastated as this game has always been there to cushion the blow of every day problems and mistakes.. I was just mortified. but i didn't care! I picked up my dusty (NOW FB PAGE) and dusted it off, gave it a few pats.. Pulled open my storage unit and opened up Yoville, i was back and this time for good until the end.. Before the transfer i was buying and selling special delivery boxes, not making much might i add but i wasn't giving up..

The transfer to BVG!
I was completely excited! As the transfer was taking place i would keep track of every FB page,. every friend talking about it, the website and so much more, i was on the page constantly talking and spamming (Hehe) I was cheering on BVG and having several laughs aloong the way as Gary made hilarious posts.. I was watching as people raised the money to send them off to a fancy dinner, and i am here now.. buying and selling and talking with friends. I now host my own page hosting tons of contests, i give items away daily, i host grand auctions, And i LOVE Yo World. I will always be with it forever and always until the end , I am glad it was saved and glad i got to share a little bit about me with everyone....

IF you read the entire post thank you for reading and i hoped you enjoyed it, I had fun typing this up.

Feel free to share your stories with me and everyone else, i love reading them! Love you everyone and please have an amazing day!..

-Chris.

I read the whole thing. I don't have a story really. I started in July 2009 and with the good, the bad and ugly, I've been here almost daily and never considered quitting or giving up. I was going to quit when Z kicked me out. Not one second before. Now we've got a new owner and things are looking up and again, I'm here till the end...whether it's the end of Yo or the end of me......how that plays out remains to be seen. ;)

Interesting story. Yo gets in the blood. We are the fabric and soul of this game. Z did not realize it. I think Big V respects our fight and does recognize it.

I have never considered leaving....continued playing everyday even though that only meant I would come in game and clock in at the factory...checked with the old forums everyday to see if there was any new information and was waiting for the end. I am so happy now and am patiently waiting for the good things that are sure to come. Glad you decided to come back.

I read the whole thing! There is something about this game that keeps some of us coming back. I left in March 2011 and got rid of everything in my inventory except for the untradeable apples. Started again in June of 2011 and had to build up from nothing. I was sad that so many of the rooms I had were gone. oh well. Here we are!

BTW: You weren't hacked, you were phished :-)

Wow, a complicated story xD But it is indeed touching. I have a very long story as well, but it's too personal and somewhat embarrassing lol. Don't worry, everybody makes the same mistakes! I've been scammed of many coins and some other things. Well, it's an interesting story, and it was fun to read. Thank you for posting this :)

I like reading so I read all of them. Interesting story. Ty for sharing it.

Thanks yo-god I have never lost a huge amount of coins or stuff neither have I ever completely quit. I guess I wouldn't be brave or patient enough to start all over again from scratch a few times like you.

I just gave brakes once in a while. Especially after 2011-2012 I started to play less and less almost none. I was just logging in sometimes, looking what's new, sigh at the prices, go to the factory and leave.

Thanks to crappy Zynga, the game was going down hill even tho many new themes were being released one after the other. Prices were crazy and decorating became impossible to me as every single key item I could use was at least 8yc. I can't afford buying more than 25-50yc once in a while. So I gave up decorating and dressing up. Most of my best yo friends I met when I first started had already stopped playing, so shorty I didn't bother to make new friends nor dressing up & decorating. There was no point of playing yo anymore. But I never uninstalled the app and never gave my stuff&coins away in case I might start to enjoy the game again one day.

When I heard the game was going to be closed, I returned back to forums to support BVG's purchse of the game. Bought a VIKINGS hat and started posting, following what's going on till we succeeded.

Now here we are all settled, game is back and alive and once again I started to buy and sell, chase stuff, really wanted to complete my piano museum again. Happy to be a yoworld player.

Love the story! I think the saddest part was when you gave up on dressing up and decorating as these two features are my key involvement now. I LOVE doing the both of them . I am truly happy you're back in action though! I can't wait to see your piano museum, please share if possible when finished!
