I know a lot of people don't like guides but what would you do if you didn't have them... What would be your main factors in setting prices or deciding how much was too much to pay when you were buying? I go by auction house a lot to determine my prices, but that is because i don't do events. I hate to talk to people real time :)
Would you keep screenshots of each theme so you had a record of coin vs yocash when they left stores? I would have to keep folders of pictures for future hoar... ummm collecting!
I am not being sarcastic here, I really want to know what people would use as a guideline and for pictures, etc.... Its fascinating to me, since i like to see new ideas come out of debate and the guides debate seems to be one of the hot issues at the moment!!

The demand on prices would most likely be lower because Price guides usually jack up whatever they feel is in.

But what would you look for in deciding what to sell for?

Pricing would end up being dictated by legitimate auctions, in AH, in game events and FB pages. Some prices would end up out of whack because of it because some people just like to overpay to flaunt their coins or want the item faster but it would be a true representation of what people are willing to pay for items.

Besides, the guide is out of whack on pricing on a lot of items anyway.

Just comes with playing, watching events, hitting sales and watching auction house. You'd be surprised on what people pay in the auction house for stuff only because they don't want to go to events and deal with idiots. I haven't looked at guides for anything unless someone is selling me a load of Halloween at rehab prices...lol. never look to get an idea on anything , I truly do wing it and a little bit of trial and error.

Price guides are only good to see what year stuff was released. At least they get that information right.

i wouldnt be surprised because thats how i make my coins. I hate events! To start my bids... I look at what items have active bids and i put a price around what they are selling for. Then I put a big crazy Buy it now for the impatient people. I never use guides alone to set prices but I use them for the pictures! Without the pictures, I would go nuts!

I will actually agree on the last two sentences.

About the only thing those guides are good for are pictures of items, especially when you want to post a WTB on the forums or in a FB group.

Its way out based on what I can get in the AH. I am not saying it would be a bad thing, but so many people are so slavishly devoted to using it as a ironclad price that it would be chaos!!

I put an item up in the AH for 5k and it got up to 57k when 5k was the highest in the guide for it, so with auctions at least, its what theyre willing to pay.

I would go by auctions too and whatever the item is worth to people there.

I just take pot luck... I think of a price and double it - then half it,,,, and there you go. ;)

I use a dart board when I don't know for certain. I know how much I pay for stuff and that is generally my baseline.

I'm still holding a Fireman I paid 15m for. If anyone wants to buy it for 15,000,010, it is all theirs. LOL

I think it was about the time the first item add hacks showed up. One day no one had them and the next day everyone did. I'm relatively certain BVG closed down every one of the accounts that brought these into Yo. :)
