So it seems people just can;t give me a break, so i'm going to discuss it here..

As of late i find doing closed auctions is rather fun, and i find it one of the best things in the game to do, to relieve stress of IRL issues and whatnot. It's my outlet. And in my auctions i set ground rules... here are some examples...

1. No 1k bids.
2. Bid fairly
3. Have fun.

These are the ONLY three rules i EVER set in ANY auction i ever host.. So i get a couple of people, obviously friends...Doing what? Bidding in 1k's... I find this HIGHLY disrespectful even when i have asked OVER four times to NOT bid by 1k's... If i ask several times and you continue to ignore me, i find that incredibly disrespectful and it is as if you are mocking me... I have never felt this angry towards anyone in my yo-life but i have to get it out... SO... After i tell this person no 1k bids..etc.etc.. His friend of which i WILL name because she is getting a delightful report.. - She decides to jump in and start talking trash.. Here is an example:
Image
First, I never complain about how much i make in an auction.. If it sells for low then it sells for low but when i have people bidding 1k on an item when i specifically said no 1k bids..and then to continue doing it after i say it well over 3-4 times to NOT do it? I don't know.. maybe it's just me.. but i find this to be incredibly rude and disrespectful..

now i know most are going to say "Set a res" first off, let me get this clear and right out. I do NOT set reserves on anything i ever sell because of the simple fact i enjoy seeing people bid, it's just my thing..I have never fancied setting a reserve and never will. It's fine if the item is worth 100k and sells for 50k i honestly DONT mind.. But a reserve i will not do...

So, for the ones who came to my auction and had to endure this heated conversation; i apologize.. And as for you Chelsea enjoy the report..

And let me just say never ONCE did i throw out any vulgarity or profanity.. Your words were un-needed and innapropriate.. Thanks.

I have a question

closed auctions, those would be people you know? from your page or group I'm guessing ... so those people know the rules?

Just found closed auctions a confusing concept - because if it were your group or page .. why bother to post it. then you could avoid those that are clearly unaware.

1k bids are great but 10c bids are better.

No, Closed auctions are auctions that have one person and one person only selling. this is where OPEN auctions come when there are several people selling several items one at a time , waiting in a line... Closed auctions are for everyones enjoyment not just a single group of people.

Oh I don't do that.

Someone will bid 200 and I'll bid 222.2 300 333.3 etc...

Or a bid will be 500 and I'll randomly bid 527 or something.

My friends are used to it.

No, it's not "just you"........it's YOUR auction and you can run it any way you see fit. If they don't like it, let em' leave...better yet, give a free trip to Altons...........I don't know what kind of "friends" you have, but they don't sound too friendly to me.
No friend of mine would ever do that and if they did, well, it would be "unfriend" time I guess.

Thank you for understanding.. And she had the nerve to say "You can't tell people what they cant bid" First of all, my auction i set the rules. I even told her if you do not like it don't come..simple! Them words EXACTLY!..

And hun trust me she is NOT my friend, I have seen her around several times and have never had a single problem with her. This is our first troubled talk ever.. But it's sad to say that she will be kicked from all of my events and a report has been sent.

Usually people that want to be disrespectful will do that to anyone. .kick and take names afterwards .. I try never to kick, but if someone's trying to ruin my joy,...out they go.

I've never been to an auction where 1k bids were OK...so, that's nothing uncommon. I mean, if ur going to a well known auctioneers auction, they pretty much say the same thing.. Unless it's so ridiculously high and there's a bid war LOL.

If you are doing items that are above 100k I don't see a problem with not allowing 1k bids ... if they insist kick :P

I've been kicked from plenty of auctions for doing that, I'm used to it. I just laugh to myself when I do get the boot because I'll literally bid on anything and everything to raise prices for the host. I've won some lots of the years that I had no desire to win because of it, but it is what it is.

I honestly hate kicking, i have never in my life been this mad at anyone ...ever... (Well on YO) I try to never kick..I move on to a compromise and then if that fails and the rude/vulgarity continues that's when they get a free trip to their favorite place.. The altons..

I'm not a well-known auctioneer but i do that in every auction i do. I do No reserves, and no 1k bids and never have a problem ever.. People tend to respect that and bid fairly.. *Sigh* But i do several auctions a week sometimes 2 in one day. :)

1k bids hold everything up, I don't blame you for not allowing them. Many that host auctions don't.

I understand but i am not here to learn how to count.. I do auctions to get it over quickly doing things like

101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107.. This is wasting my time and causes people to leave. I want to get it done and get it done fast.

Exactly what i mean. Wanna hold up my auction? Haha..No. I usually ignore the 1k bids and it ticks them off.. Your fault...

but overall i feel just incredibly disrespectful.. If i bring out an item and it's worth over 100k and people bid 1k on it. It just makes me feel just, awful.. It feels like they're here to disrespect me and my auction.

 That's just me i suppose..

I am not trying to be disrespectful but what is the big deal about 1k bids? I mean if you will allow 2k or 3k bids, is 1k REALLY that bothersome? If the problem is it takes to long to auction off an item then wouldn't that cancel out your (referring to OP) claim that you like to see ppl bidding? And why host an auction if you can not dedicate the time. Also, if you are worried that 1k bids will not give you the amount you are looking for, then why even risk selling that at an auction in the first place?

Again not trying to be disrespectful to any one banning the 1k bid. I just wanna know what the real gripe is.
