What are your thoughts and suggestions on how to find new players that could use a few of us sending over some things to get them started? I'm not very consistent but I would love to do an ongoing thread to find legit people and sending over some things, even if they're old freebies it's a good thing.

It's hard to know if it's a real new person or a banned person coming back or someone's 2nd or 3rd account... yadda yadda yadda

What do you think on finding these gems?

I only ever give people who claim to be new my loose, and unused items, so even if it's an alt or not, I'm practically unaffected.

There is no way of knowing who is a legit new player. While it's a nice thought, I just gift people either at random or from what I see in game and on the forums. New or old doesn't matter.

Even though i respect your thoughts on this, I remember back to when I joined the game I got sod all off anybody and I made do with the little I had, even keeping my grey carpet down for months I DO gift and often regardless of whether they joined today or 6 years ago
My point is this why hand it to them on plate?

I wish I knew a good way to find them. I love helping out new players (refuse to call them "noobs".)

If people TRULY are new, they will actually appreciate the mystery box items including the night club and vday ones because they have no clue what they are. I like to gift people with no or a low badge. If I give em a nightclub lamp and they are so excited about it, that's when I throw 50k their way.

I really like gifting noobs but I don't confine it to that. I really don't care how rich or poor a player is. However, if you find some I'll be happy to help. :D

Meet people with out the intent of gifting them at first. Find out what they're about and what their hobbies and interests are, and maybe gift them something based on what you've learned about them? By that point you're more of a friend gifting somebody under an intentional basis, and have a better chance to gift them something they'd like....

Well being that we're down to 5% buying YC, the success of this game becomes a numbers game. If we can support and encourage new people that will make it easier for them to stay, then we have more chances of gaining in numbers and more cash flow.

As for person who said that they started with nothing, then you don't have to give anything. Play the game the way you want.

I wonder if we keep this thread up long enough to get BVG's attention, maybe they can pass on legit new player keys? Just rambling out thoughts that may not be feasible. I know we're a clever bunch and could probably find a way to make it work.

Thanks for all the replies :-)
