Hi Yoworld,

The best concert I have ever been to in person was back in 2015 on July 25th at the Palace of Aurburn Hills Michigan to see the lovely and the sexy Shaina Twain on what was supposed to be her Farwell Rock This Country Tour which was one of the best I have ever been to and the first one ever. I have been a huge fan for Shaina twain since about 2 years of age so I'm a fan at heart. The concert was so awesome with over 100 mintues of pure country and pop hits from her career. I was just an awwwwwwwh of how much love all of us fans gave her when she returned to the stage on tour that year. I am sad that Shaina got to have her last concert at the palace but I am exicted because she Is hitting the road again in 2018 with her new music NOW coming out of September of 2017. I honestly cant wait to see the queen of country pop back in action like how she was in 2015. MAN I FEEL LIKE A WOMAN

I was just 10 or 11 years old and the Beatles were coming to play at the Indiana State Fair. The concert was to be in the Coliseum on the fairgrounds which was one of the smallest venues they played. Had to be 1964, maybe 63. The Beatles were still a really new phenomenon. No way were my parents going to let their 10 or 11 year old daughter go to a concert alone or with a friend, so my dad bought tickets for the whole family to go. WHOLE FAMILY! Yep, my Mom, my Dad, and my little sister all were there when I went to see the Beatles. Hard to be cool when the whole fam is along. (Hard enough to be cool at 11 anyway.) SO embarrassing. But still, it was heavenly seeing them. It was like the agony and the ecstasy all at once. I wanted to scream because hey, that was part of the whole Beatles deal BUT there were my parents right beside me and so I felt like a doofus even thinking about screaming. (My dad always made fun of the screamers when they were on tv.) What to do? :eh: :haha: :eh: :haha: :eh: :haha: I compromised and screamed without opening my mouth. If you were here, I'd show you how but the noise was in my throat and kind of ended up sounding like a dog yelping. Anyway, I loved that concert because 1.) it was my first, 2.) ironically because my parents took me, and 3.) hey, The Beatles. By the way, my Dad sprung for the expensive seats - $5 each! (The tickets went for 3, 4 or 5 bucks.) He kept saying "I can't believe it was 20 dollars for us to see this concert." He'd be rolling over in his grave if he knew what concert tickets cost today! After the concert, we went through Indianapolis on our way home and every time he saw a guy with a Beatles cut, he'd say "Look girls - it's one of the Beatles!" We knew he was only kidding but still, was he.....? :?: :?: :?:

Since I suggested the music theme, probably one of many, I hope i get a reward. lol.
Best concert, there were many, but way back in the late 70's the first outdoor concert in my state had the likes of Santana, Peter Framptom, Beach Boys, Chicago, America, Fleetwood Mac, Steve Miller Band and several others. A lot of today's outdoor concerts are more of a social event and less about the music but the crowd was very focused on enjoying the first event and enjoying the music as Texas tried to create it's own Woodstock event. Texas in the month of May can be very HOT as it was on this day. I remember that the only water available was from a few faucets where you'd bring a bucket or bottle and fill it up with tap water. This cute girl asked me to pour water down her back and as I did, the crowd cheered. So, I filled my little bucket and threw the water in the air, and everybody cheered and others started joining in. Late in the day, as we were leaving the concert I passed that water stop and they were STILL tossing water in the air and the place became a mud pit. Good music, good friends, awesome crowds...great lasting memories.

I've seen a lot of concerts because I'm an old yo. Concerts like Rush, Moody Blues, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, and even The Grateful Dead so it's hard to pick just one. My top pick would have to be when my sister and I,went to Orlando to see the Eagles, Hell Freezes Over Tour in 1994. I grew up listening to the Eagles, and thought I would never get to see them in concert. The crowd was awesome with everyone singing every word to every song. We were amazed by the night ending it buying concert T-Shirts and I'm not ashamed to say I still have mine.

i went to Guns n' Roses in slane Castle Co. Meath, Ireland
and it was the most incredible experience of my life, you wouldnt believe i was less than 20 feet away from Axl, Slash and Duff was truely insane, the tribute they sang for sound garden (black Hole Sun) for Chris Cornell made everyone there realize how much of a big hearted and talented man Axl rose is,and slash and duff played "wish you were here" as pink floyd left the stage not so long ago, it was honestly the best night of my life
:D :D :D :D

Best concert ever-
I wanted to see KISS, never got to see them and it was their reunion tour, in the U.S. it was all the original members touring for their last tour together, ever, I thought I was out of luck with getting tickets, and a good friend surprised me with a ticket and we happen to have great seats to the right of the stage, we were so close we could feel the heat from the flames coming from the stage, anyways, when they played "Detroit rock city" the place went wild, everyone stood up and sang with the band, it was amazing, we all felt a part of the band for that moment, it was a great connection with the whole crowd, one of the best live performances, it was like I was a kid again, back in time, a priceless moment, I will never forget and a great memory I love to share over and over..

Sincerely,
dam jan :)

The best concert I ever saw was Prince two times in his Purple Rain tour. My friends and I waited in line for 10 hours outside Hecht's department store for tickets. This was in the days before the internet. Anyway, Prince came on stage and you could just feel the electricity and oozy sexuality. He asked the crowd "Who wants to be my girlfriend?" and guys and girls alike were screaming "Me". I loved this show so much that I saw it a second time when he passed back through the DC area.

A Squirrel, A Wheelchair & the Coolest Mom Ever

My overall, best concert was Uproarfest in Kansas City, KS. More often than not, half the fun is getting there…and our adventure began when we left her house. As soon as we walked outside, we found a baby squirrel that had fallen from the tree. We didn’t want to leave it for a likely demise, so we contacted animal control, who referred us to a wildlife refuge. You could tell it was frightened, but it was also so tired that it was passing out-cold. The refuge would not take the squirrel, but advised us on how to care for it until it could be released into the wild. Concerned about her dog, she spoke with her neighbor, who was to take the tiny squirrel and raise it. Off we went…although a bit behind schedule.

While at the show, although we arrived late, we were able to work our way up to the front row in time to see Stained. About halfway through the set and fighting to maintain our spot on the rail, we heard someone from behind ask if they could squeeze in. Our reaction was, “Heck N….” until we looked back and saw a kid in a wheelchair, and it wasn’t just any kid. This kid had been made a local idol after a picture of him had been circulated of him crowd-surfing in this wheelchair at Rockfest (the largest one-day rock festival in the nation, held in KC, MO). It isn’t every day that you see a crowd-surfer in a wheelchair, so we knew we were in the presence of a die-hard rocker! We happily packed in tighter to pull him up to the front…after our nostalgic selfie with him, of course.

One of our favorite parts of shows are the people we meet along the way. This show was no different. Before the main act, Shinedown, a woman with her 7 year-old son had worked their way up behind us. This kid was so excited to the see Shinedown, which he referred to his favorite band. He knew all of the words to their songs, which he was belting out during their set. When my friend and I had had enough for the night, we pulled them to our spot on the rail, so he could have the ultimate front row experience at his first show. His face lit up with so much disbelief and excitement, it will never be forgotten. Heck, I wish my parents had taken me to a rock show when I was his age! That mom deserves a Cool-Mom award.

I have been to more shows, collected more set-lists & guitar pics, and met more interesting people than I can even begin to describe, but this concert was THE most memorable. People Rock!

The first concert I ever went to was New Found Glory, at the time New Found Glory was MY FAVRIOTE band ever! I still remember my cousin telling me we were going to see them and I was SOOO HAPPY I think I almost cried actually. I saw them during the Glamour Kills Tour at the Theatre Of Living Arts on south st October 12 2014 so I was 14 at the time I EVEN GOT TO MISS SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY AHHH!!!. Also, that night we saw we are the incrowd and some other bands I forgot the name of lol. Since they were SO GOOD I went back again to see them in jersey, 2015. I even got a picture with Chad (one of the band members ) I WAS CRYING LOL! But yeah, that was the best day ever it made my little 14 year old heart happy!!! It was a night that was amazing and I couldn't thank my cousin enough for taking me and I may not listen to them as often but I still have a picture them on my wall lol. But yes, that was my first concert.

Well this is an original contest! Love it!

Now that I'm older, I don't do much in the way of concerts. But when I was in high school, I went to a few. I hit up the Vans Warped Tour in 2000, some local band (actually the band was Montreal's "Rubberman", which is no longer together except the lead singer Jonas has kept alive in the music industry), and a few punk concert random's of which some we didn't even know the name of the groups lol. Me and my cousins (the girls I always went with) always stood front center stage - and yes - we got the bejeezus smushed out of us, especially during mosh pit time lol. But the best one, hmmm....

The best one I'd have to say would have been the Rubberman concert that was an outdoor event. We were again, front and center, and the lead singer (Jonas) actually even picked up my cousin from the crowed and had her sit on the edge of the stage, and wanted me up there too but I was wayyyy shy. The concert was fun, and afterwards I met the band. I had been chatting on ICQ (holy wow isn't that an old chat app LOL), with the bassist actually, and while I was talking to him I casually mentioned "how did your cornbread turn out?" "how was the trip to your grandmothers?" and he was so confused, didn't know who the heck I was, but it was something we had chatted about and he was wondering how this crazy chick knew this stuff!!! Finally I put him out of his misery and told him, and the other guys in the band started laughing and said they thought I was a girl who had 'slept over' and he didn't remember me LOL!!! I was kind of mortified to have them think that I'd do that but it was funny anyways. So that was a pretty good memory :D

I have 2 great stories..
First of how I won tickets to not only go see Nine Inch Nails, but I got to watch them sound check and got some badass merch.. I was flown out to Vegas (was originally sposed to be in L.A.) with a friend (the same one as below) and we got to stay in the Hard Rock Hotel for the weekend. It was so freaking awesome..
Then there was the time we went to see FFDP, Hellyeah, Nothing More and Volbeat. My bff was obsessed with FFDP and so I had to take her. I got tickets for us and her oldest son. Well, he ended up acting a fool so we took her youngest son. We eventually made our way to the barricade; like we always do: I'm 5'2".. Then all of a sudden Ivan Moody comes walking over and points out her son and then says to bring him up on stage. Then he says "you too mom" My girl went insane.. They dragged her over the barricade and up onto the stage.. Ivan gave her a hug and talked to her and then her and her son got to stand up on stage while the performed their next song.. Needless to say, it was the best night of her life, and I was the bestest friend in the whole world!! :D :D

Best concert ever was seeing Green Day this year. I waited 18 years to see them and that concert was...euphoric.
Before they even came on stage they were hyping people up by playing Bohemian Rhapsody because NOBODY can resist singing along to that song. 1,500 people chanting Bohemian Rhapsody was an experience in itself! The actual concert was everything I've ever expected a Green Day concert to be: Exhilarating, personal, funny. It was 3 hours long and loud as hell and the band was so awesome. Really active and interactive with people and they pumped a ton of merch into the crowd!! There were so many explosions and fire and my god, I have never been to a concert where, as a person in the crowd, I could feel the heat from the flames spilling off the stage into peoples faces. At the end of the show, Billie Joe stood on stage with a single light on him holding an acoustic guitar and played Good Riddance (Time of your Life) and towards the end orange and white confetti labeled "Green Day" rained down on everybody. It was very emotional. The next day my entire body hurt and I felt insanely hungover even though I had had nothing to drink. It hurt to talk, move, think. That concert delivered. Best. Concert. Ever.
