Themes will vary a little bit from week to week. Some themes may have more than one winner, some may include bonus items as prizes, and who knows what else. The Challenge Rules are simply a guaranteed minimum for each week :)

Granted, I have only skimmed through this thread but I am not seeing or finding out the information that states how to find the task.

I peeked on the Fanpage and no mention...

Would love to easily know that info. <3

And to add, when I held my one & only contest here, "My Home in the Woods" viewtopic.php?f=3&t=111904, my prizes were: 1st place 40yocash, 2nd place 30yocash, 3rd place 20 yocash, plus everyone received thank you gifts for entering worth both yocash and yocoins. I might enter for the love as well as to inspire but for those hoping to get something in return for their hard work & investments, 30yocash, for 1st place & the only place? is very small. This is a Big Viking Games Contest!! a contest held by pretty much the gods of yoworld. & the prize is 30yocash?? & only for 1 person? I don't do contests for the money so this doesn't bother me personally, but out of love for my participants, I would acknowledge & reward as many as I see fit. Turned out all the designers who came out for my contest were amazing & invested a lot for their entries, so they were all rewarded accordingly. But that's just me. & this is just my input.

Despite my reflection i also see the side that a regular contest means regular yc donations, so from BVG's side i understand that they look for a balance. But i do think there is a better deal to be worked on. 1 winner is a sad result and 30 yc is low. There is also no mention of any coin rewards or a special item to gain for any 2nd or 3rd places. To me it's a pretty raw deal and it makes that the glory of winning such a contest actually fades. The question to ask is: why would anyone want to participate if their chances on winning are so slim and the prices are stripped of any prestige or means of refunding a bit of your efforts? It becomes just less special and thus winning a contest makes doesn't hold any glory. And in that case you're better off decorating according to your own rules, wishes, creativity and budget. And in case that you want recognition for your work, you just slap some photos of your decorations in the photo section of the forum. The result is also basicly the same: you have lost a wad of coins and yc (because with one winner of 30yc, most participants won't win unless they're very lucky) in your creative exploits. Sad to say that the only real difference is that you can totally do what you want, are probably more happy and don't have to mind any hassle because of any hopes. And on top of it you can do it according to your own budget.

I love to decorate, I invest my coins and yocash in a room if I like the theme. I have been doing so since I started playing and since I am decorating anyway what difference whether I win 30 or 60 yocash because I would have spent my money anyway. I entered a room in the last contest and did not win in fact I have entered a few, not with the thought that I might win but for the fact it's nice to share and see others ideas and use of a theme. I will enter a room for the anniversary too only this time I will be using older items because I am not mad about the new items released so far but it is fun to showcase my idea of celebrating the fun I have had since BVG took over :) Only my opinion but I think it's a great idea so thank you Jess :)

For me anyway, why participate in a contest if not for the glory? For exposure. lol
I know I check more who comes out to showcase at a contest vs the photo album. But I hear ya, it is more of a contest if all the participants were really going head to head for that prize.

Will be the weekly contest be hosted here in the forums or in the Facebook YoWorld page?
Where do we post the entries? here or there?

Mmmmm I found the info under the first post in this thread.
The title is confusing thou: "The Facebook Fanpage Feature Challenge!"
What is the connection of the contest with the Fanpage in Facebook?

All i tried to say is that i'm hoping that the challenge from BVG remains a contest with prestige, originality and creativity. A bit of prizes tend to ensure a more inspiring competition, which in return is more glorious to compete in and thus the honor and joy of winning is indeed more intense and gratifying too. The exposure is nice, sure, but it can be gotten in the photo section of the forum too, sometimes with more interesting feedback.

Since i know from personal experience as well as from a few other decorators, it does happen that some make some expenses or choices towards contest rooms that they wouldn't make in other occasions. This is not abnormal or weird, but yes exactly for that reason it's nice to see that when you do win, these choices pay off.

If you had any doubts, i'm all in for regular exciting decorating challenges.

You must have missed the kegs over in the corner-there is plenty left....they just tapped a new keg in your honor Your Spiderness.
And the other dragons have been out behind the Longhouse crushing grapes with their great dragon feet turning them into an elixir worthy of the Great Reptilian Gods themselves.............pull up a chair and grab a mug.

I'm not sure what you mean by decorating 'under the box'.

The 999 coin Broadway Avenue? My entry for this time is made on that. I just turn on black-space decorating and black -space walking. Then the edge where you can't place things, between the roof of the yellow building in front (which might be 'the box' you're referring to?) and the street goes away.

Other than that, with that avenue, you have to create the illusion of space if you want it to look like some things are below other things, or closer or further away. I wanted the house and feast to appear closer, so I used that yellow roof as a guide to place the house and some of the feast.
