Same here... I found out by checking forums.... saw the post of Eggy being found. There should have been an icon or something in game making people aware of the fun! I feel bad for those who found out about the hunt AFTER it was over via the newsletter. Bad timing there...... I know many people who don't read forums....I sure would miss alot of info if I didn't... rounds the game out...

I think it's pretty bogus that these hunts you have are never announced prior to the event in the YoWorld game. YoWorld is not a game based on the forum-the forum should be here for the game. If you're going to have events that result in players receiving any kind of an item or benefit that can be used in the game, it should be offered to all players as an option to participate...not just your select few forum groupies. The forum should not be a place where exclusive game events are released unless there is a notification to all game players first with a link available to any who are interested. This should also apply to any game changes or updated info-anything and everything pertaining to game play. The forum should be an option, it should not be mandatory to access it or engage in lest the player misses out on what YoWorld's game play has to offer.

This YoWorld News notification received in emails (my email anyways) was delivered to my inbox April 13 at 11:23AM Pacific time (April 13 at 6:23PM UTC time) giving players 5 ½ hours to "hunt"....PROVIDED that the hunt continued after Vikings' working hours...which I understand from some players "EGGY" was not on the streets of YoWorld to be found by players after BVG business hours resulting in actually giving players even less time than that to hunt ... and that's only IF that player opened their email at the time it was delivered. Most people do not live in their email and many don't even check their email every day (fact!)..unless expecting something. With this hunt starting on April 11th, I don't know how you can consider your April 13th afternoon email adequate fair notice to all players of YoWorld.

So the forum participants (provided they have the inside skuttlebutt of where to look in the forum for notification of the coming event) are privy to initial participation in the event, then podcast listeners are able to gain awareness that something is happening by vague mentioning of the event (from listening to the podcast, it gave me the impression the hunt would be on Easter....but I came into the forum right after listening to the podcast (and I listened to it as soon as I received notification in game that a new podcast was available to hear) to see if I could find something about it- by the time I found mention of the hunt, I notice a most recent comment posted a player stating the hunt had ended already) and then, if a YoWorld player subscribes to the YoWorld News, and they open their email as it arrives in their inbox, they may find out about something an hour or 2 before it's defunct and archived to YoWorld history...or if they waited till evening after getting home from work or getting done with their RL world to open their email, they, received an after-the-fact, moot piece of game play knowledge. If a player doesn't subscribe to YoWorld News, they're just living in their own world of "ignorant" bliss and never knew they missed out on something in the game...while those that read the newsletter, go into the game and waste hours looking for something that isn't out there anymore cuz no one told them he's not on the streets at night (on the western hemisphere)! Then finds out what's going on as far as communication to players and, bottom line, feel as if they don't matter in the game and as if they were thought to have nothing to do but focus on YoWorld at the Vikings' convenience. Please post an announcement in game when there is something players can participate in with something to gain as a reward for them. If everyone can't have an equal opportunity time to earn a "prize" then even the rarity in number of that prize leaves that prize resented and no longer sought after by the majority. This leaves the possessor of the prize (and yes, some got two, I guess so they could sell one?) with an unsellable extra. And an artist and scripter was paid to spend their time to provide something that only a handful of players were opportune to access and possess.

Time restrictions are never a good thing when you have a global clientele. Back in the day, limited time offers weren't half as pressured as now and only a few items would be offered in numbered days but most left when themes went. Players' desired items but low purchased quantity before theme left and was no longer available is what determined something to be a collectable or a rare-not pressure of a limited one day of availability. Sometimes mini games would only be around for a week so players had time to complete the challenge and maybe one or two 3 or 4 day special sale item or one or two luxury (exclusive) items for a theme. We could come in and open our gifts whenever we wanted and if a friend visited, their avi remained in our home until we came into the game again and clicked on them to return the visit. We opened as many of our gifts as we wanted, whenever we wanted...because what we were gifted didn't change with time or amount received or by what level the sender was. All players had access to send all available gifts..what was in your box or chest was what you got and you could open them all or save them till next whatever year to open them if you wanted. In days of yore, things in YoWorld were done on our available time, not the time and limits set by game devs and administrators. We all have enough pressure and time limits in RL. A game should be fun. The fun and leisurely socializing is waning, if not already lost for a lot of players.

A business can't survive without satisfied customers.

Didn't mean to be so long winded, but this isn't the first time players have felt slighted and in fairness to all, the method of announcement should be corrected.

Did anyone complaining happen to think that maybe it was a forum released contest because they want draw more players to the forum? Maybe it is to get you more active in the community? And on top of all that.. This isn't even the first time an event was held like this. Just last month the Chase the leprechaun event took place. If you don't want to miss out, be more active in the community.

Was thinking along the same lines, it was advertised we were given warning through the forums, it might be a way to attract more to the forums. Though I do think, if you are going to advertise it in the yomag the email should have gone out before the event ended. It was also mentioned on the pod cast which people are informed about in game.
I love these hunts it has gotten me out of my yohouses and a great way to meet other players.

Today is the day we see what we get for finding Eggy, I can't wait to see what it is.

Also, myself and many others share forum posts and game information on our Facebook profiles and within Facebook groups..so, if one wants to be informed, there are plenty of ways to get connected!
