Yes. Most years actually, as halloween is not a major event here except for in larger towns/cities or areas with US military bases around. Where I lived prior to relocating there was never a single trick or treater at all ringing our door bell, and when I took my younger siblings to trick or treat we had to explain the holiday to most people who opened the door. They liked the idea but had not known it yet. Now I live somewhere where it is celebrated due to the Army base here, but my house being at the street corner and the entrance in the back, I guess no trick or treaters bother going to the back to ring, and again not a single trick or treater has rung my door bell. In the first years of living here I did buy halloween candy in the hopes trick or treaters would come, but since that failed year by year , I just no more buy any halloween candy.
