One year we decided we weren't dragging the kids from house to house to see everyone, so we cooked Thanksgiving dinner at our house. It was just us, the kids, and a friend who was in town and didn't have any plans. Well, the toilet backed up and being that it was our only one we had to do something then and there. We ended up having to dig up the cleanout and unclog it (not going into details here). Anyway, we can look back on it and laugh now, but at the time I was embarrassed and horrified. Our friend however, just jumped right in an helped without hesitation, a true gem he was. Sometimes life has a funny way of telling or showing you what is really important and what to be thankful for. Friends like that are a rarity.

Oof, I would have been stressed! Im glad you guys were able to handle it and that your guest was unfazed! I bet the person who clogged it was mortified :haha:

im so glad that things are looking up for you Diana  it is so important to have an optimistic attitude about life. I often forget that myself! Has your husband ever tried to deep fry his turkey? I saw a video on it earlier and it looked delicious :D I have heard it is very dangerous to deep fry, though!

Actually, after digging it out, we found the issue to be on the part of the builder workmanship. Thankfully they were quite handy and able to remedy the issue.

I have been busy and fallen behind on these posting contests but I'm trying to catch up now. It's nice to read everyone's posts :)

I'm super thankful I don't have to cook! So not my thing and my SIL loves to cook, it's a win/win situation. I am braving the grocery store early tomorrow. Hoping to beat the rush and get everything I need for the week so I don't have to go back :phew:

Ugh, that sucks! Maybe you can score an awesome Black Friday deal! No recommendations though. Over the years, I've bought the wii, Xbox, Switch and various older devices. But really my kids and hubby are PC gamers so that stuff just collects dust now.

Hey everybody, how are you doing?

The countdown to the show Thanksgiving will be given for days to weeks and possibly months. That is my family's comedy, leading to many series and seasons, so with that said, I am kicking off my Thanksgiving ritual. First up, Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special.

Thankfully, I have almost finished my holiday shopping. I hope big sales happen on Black Friday because I need a deal and a prayer that I do not get my brother, who likes to wait a week before Christmas, to tell me what he wants.

since we had thanksgiving I have been looking around for special gifts-we have what is called black friday week and the prices remain the same even for black friday-I do not want to be out that day as this city goes crazy and line ups are soooooooooooooooo long and traffic is even crazy-in fact so are all the restaurants here..might be a good day to just chill and relax-any going out on the offical black friday to shop?

today I am also thankful that my eyes are still in good condition.

I used to game ALOT on my MacBook before I switched over to PS/Xbox. But that was many years ago and I have since moved to a much smaller room. Sadly no place for a PC setup but it is my dream to build one :)

The lines at the local supermarket are insanely long. And we went grocery shopping last week! So picking up the little odds and ends has been hectic lol :phew:

I am mostly just gonna do cyber Monday shopping. I dont like going to crowded areas too much these days.
