I am learning about so many fruits today that I had never heard of!!! Is there another fruit that you could compare the taste of the feijoa too? It’s been so interesting reading about these unique fruits in the thread—-a big reason why I love forums… I’m always learning so much!!! Thanks for sharing

First to answer your last ? We lived in the appalachians, the foothills, in the south westerrn tip of the state of virginia. He only had one pawpaw tree lol I think it was a gift but I really don't know. So it's not like they were growing wild or something lol

Second, as to learning about new fruit, I've seen these in the produce market, but never tried them:

Santa Claus Melon

, I think I will next time I see them now because of this thread, lol But have you ever seen or heard of these, or are you learning about another fruit lol

they are like a guava so taste like that i did some googling and found this ::::

Feijoas taste like taking the best elements of strawberry, guava and pineapple and mixing them together.

So its kinda similar texture to banana but bit more softer

Some people over here say they taste like soap lol

I eat roma ones like apples walking around the house haha tweeks out my boyfriend.
If I had to pick one food to eat for the rest of my life roma tomatos would win hands down.
I think it why us Italians live long and look so young. Most ppl think I am 25.
They perserve us hahah. That and the olive oil.
I am a bit overboard with the tomatos but omg I just love them!

I am not a big veggie lover but I absolutely love me some fruit! I would say my favorite is probably strawberries! We buy a pack every week at the grocery store just to snack on, put in lunches, etc! It’s been so hot where I am from recently and I love eating strawberries on a hot day—-they are so refreshing!

Thank you for the bday wishes gumdrop!! I love strawberries, but they're always so sour, I would opt for a cup of fresas con crema any day

Oh wow I’ve never heard of that! I must try it, although I’m not sure if there’s any available where I live but I definitely must check it out!

I’m only realising how much different fruits and veggies there are that I haven’t even heard of before until now!

Yes I’ve heard of durian aswell, I watched lots of food vloggers on YouTube try it and I think they’ve said that the smell is horrible but the taste is not that bad! But I think it varies from person to person, I have tried it before but I honestly think if the smell is off putting then the taste will be too hahaha

Hey everyone!

Its been such a long day for me. Im now cooling down with a marg and decorating :) :drink:

Has anyone here tried a prickly pear?!

Image

Its so refreshing. I like to chill mines before eating, and the green ones are my fav because they aren't too sweet! :)
When I was a child, my aunties would always warn us that eating too many would back us up (due to the seeds), if you know what I mean :haha: :haha: :haha:
