My little Bandit, my SHYTEzu, my little war dog, crossed the bridge today. He was 17 years old, curled up for a nap, and didn't wake up again. My heart is breaking.

He was raised from puppyhood with his sister Susie.

They belonged to an elderly woman I had befriended and would check on and spend time with her. When she got Susie as a puppy, right after she got Bandit, she said we had the same 'hair color' and named her Susie, so she would 'always have a Susie with her, even when I wasn't there". She passed, nobody would take both, I wouldn't let them be separated because they had been together for 10 years, so they stayed with me.

Then Susie passed 10 months ago, had issues that popped up suddenly, nothing could be done, had an appointment to take her to the bridge but she left the night before I could. This is the last pic I have of them together, he knew she was going out, and he stayed right there with her.

I think Bandit had just had enough. He seemed to age 20 years after that. I still have FatFat, my pibble, but he just wasn't as close to Fat.

Oh, I called him my "little war dog" because I'd get him groomed and he'd be sooo pretty and smelling good...until I'd let him out to do his business. Then he'd come back in looking like he'd been living in a fox hole for a month.

I'll probably wake up 20 times a night because he won't be right there next to me, my little cuddle bug.

I'm gonna miss him so much. :'(

Pepsi I am so, so deeply sorry for your loss. Losing a furbaby is one of the hardest losses I've endured to date. I had a sweet baby girl that lived to 17 as well. I am so glad you got to love them both until their last breath. I am sending you so, so much love.

Sweet Pepsi I'm so sorry. I wish I knew what to say but I never do in times like these. Please know I'm sending lot's of hugs your way while I'm sitting here wiping the tears away.. :'(

Thank you, I did the best I could, they knew me pretty well anyway after being around them for the first ten years anyway before they came to live with me, but they missed their first "Mom", I know they did.

and yes it truly is. I didn't even go to bed last night, I've been up all night because I just couldn't stand the thought of him not with me after 7 years of having my little warm cuddle buddy. Thank you again. :hug:
