Some of mine do not work either. I think if they were connected to others and they quit they failed to work.
Some of mine work and some of mine do not. I am thinking the ones that do not work. are the ones where people quit.

Try taking 2 you know connect and put them in your inventory.
It will be a big hassle if you dont have some sort of map..

People buy the telportors to connect one anothers rooms or places up.

One person buys 1 and the other one they gift to a friend. If the friend ends up quitting you are stuck with a door that does not work since the other ones is gone not connected to yo any more.
