They explained how they tried very hard to do so but due to the blur effect that I used, they weren't able use that same effect in game (This leaving the in-game image with sharper edges). I appreciate the effort and hard work by BVG and am still happy with how some of the items turned out
My questions are1.) What would be a good way to add a "blur" type effect or something to soften the edges other than using blur?
2.) Should I use a different program entirely?
3.) Is there a specific way the items should be saved in order to work well in game?
Any answers would really help
Thank you all
That is a good question. it sounds like you are working in AI or an Illustrator kind of format that leaves rough edges. It is easier for me to do in photo shop. I thought they used photoshop and illustrator.
They must be saved as a PNG.. anything else would pixelate and blurr or both.
If I had that problem, and as good as you are since your designs are and were accepted, I would go to google and type in just that.
Photoshop eliminate rough edges. or illustrator and type in smooth rough edges. There are some awesome tutorials.
personally, maybe next time we could ask BVG what programs are easiest to use for us for them to reiterate.
It is very difficult jumping from program to program. the jump from illustrator to photo shop was gruesome to say the least when I went to college as one was pixels and the other was vector. switching between is a bear.
Its ridiculous. Now the two programs meet in the middle and are over laying and entwining wonderfully as the two are nearly. I had to learn 2 programs with 2 palates, different wording, and symbols.
Its a miracle I am not a nut.
Id try to find the closest program possible to BVG as this will give a faster in to acceptance. We cannot expect exact copies and those that do are somewhat not learned in the matter.
