When opening the chests in the events is it possible to get the legendary & epic prizes by opening only the 50 wooden chests or do i need to open the 230 magic chest to get the legendary & epic prizes? Which chest do you open and also was curious, do you save your gems till the legendary prize is up or use them right away?

I wish I could answer your question about the 50 gem chests and legendary items. I have however noticed more coveted items being placed in that 50-gem slot (the striped dress and unitard in EAU2021 for example). They're getting smart on item placement in the tiers.

As a rule, I save all of my awards gems from voting until either the end of the theme or until a tier opens that has an item I really want.

I open the 150 gem chests because they help get me decent items. 150 boxes can get you legendary items. 50 gems and 250 gem boxes can pull some nice items sometimes but they're highly unreliable in my experience. I don't mind getting a common item with a 50 gem chest, but a 250 gem chest? Nope.

This is just what I do. You do what works for you.

What I have learned is the odds of getting good Gem items increase with the price of the chest. If I open 230 boxes, I always get Gem event items (as opposed to other theme items) and typically Legendary. With 150 its more of a risk, I'd say its 50-50 whether I get Gem event items or older items. With 50 its definitely a crap shoot.

So I'd suggest trying one of each and you'll see for yourself what you can get.

Be sure to cash out the gems when they hit 500 (or are close) or you will lose gems. I know of a few people who didn't pay attention to what they had & when they had 410 gems already they clicked a challenge reward which was for way more than 90 gems, but they only got 90 as the gems max out at 500.

I always thought that it was based on the color coding.. that 50 only gave the blue stuff, 150 could give maroon or blue, and 230 could give anything of any value.

That said, I do seem to get exactly the color code that I open. I stick with 150 and only get 150 prizes.

I have no idea how tiers work. I do wish it was explained better so we know what we were striving for.
