I used to be able to do this by double clicking on the clothing item but it no longer works. I've seen others completely change their avatar clothing and I would like to know how. Usually I pick the male because of the hips on the female not working with the clothes or the hair.
I'd love to know how to change it ALL!

Hello Bree,
I know your pain - those dang Challenge items can make you work sometimes!
My advice (and how I do it) is to start off by replacing the Challenge Pants/Dress with an item that is small - like underwear.

So in answer to your question the key to dressing your avi as you ultimately want to see it is =LAYERING!

Here's how I do it...
Step 1. = Click on the words 'SWAP ITEM' to remove Challenge item
Step 2. = After you have removed Challenge item - Click ONLY in the centre of the main body of the Picture/Image See below to add a Dress or to wear multiple Dresses at once. Do Not click the words 'Swap Item' again after you have removed the Challenge Dress from your Avi - if you click on the words - this action will only make the Challenge Item return! Doh!
So Remember!!!..DO NOT click the words 'SWAP ITEM' again after the Avi is wearing the chosen underwear, as this will make the Challenge Dress return and you will be caught in a seemingly never ending loop!

There are a number of Corsets/Mini Dresses from past themes that you can use as underwear to remove the Challenge item, then just put the desired Dress/Skirt/Shirt on top of it, likewise there are a number of Shorts/Bikini Bottoms/Underwear in the Pants range that you can place a Dress over if you want to use the Male Challenge Avi...So you just need to start by removing the Pants - then you can pop a Dress/Skirt over it.

Here's an annoyance you may encounter..... Once you've put on the 'underwear' item that removes the Challenge Dress - IF you plan to wear 2 or more Dresses from same Theme = the Challenge item comes back on! Doh! - this is a frustrating glitch which randomly occurs and means - you will need to start back at Step 1 again! (UGH I Know that darn Challenge item can be a Pain!)...

And that's it really! Plain as Mud huh!?

Once you have to the hang of getting rid of the Challenge items - it's all plain sailing from there!


To Remove Challenge Pants (see underwear suggestion Pics below)....choose an underwear item and Click on the words 'SWAP ITEM'....then head over to Dresses/Skirts - if dressing Avi as a Female[/b]

The same steps are to be applied to remove the Challenge Hair - click 'SWAP ITEM' to remove Challenge hair with Theme Hair, and if layering the Themed hair with non-theme Hair to create a more individual look!

Thanks for the long explanation, but I can't see any of the items (image no longer available error message) you listed that you can swap...???

I need to know what clothing item I need to get rid of the DRESS...for challenges that call for shirt and skirt, for instance...Can you tell me the name of the clothing item needed, so I can buy it?
