How do you add a buddy to your ladder at bottom of the screen? Thanks for any reply

When you are in game and playing you should meet some people outside Altons or in events and when you are doing the Gem Quest it asks you to be in the same area as 2-3 buddies
You can either ask for them to add you by typing "please add me" or you can click their avatar and right at the bottom it says "add as buddy".
They must be online and "live" to add you as a buddy.
NPC's or non playing characters don't move or respond and mostly don't talk back

When you have added a buddy they will appear on the ladder at the bottom and you can visit them
Oh and by the way your question was one I asked way back when I first started playing Yo on MySpace, I had 1 other person on my ladder ONE and I had no idea how to get more.
Its ok to be new everyone was a newb at one point

If I am friends with another player on FaceBook will they not automatically be added to my friends ladder? I have a couple that haven't been added.
