Hiiii! Welcome to my thread for all things involving art for YoWorld! :D

I've been wanting to set this thread up for close to a year now, but since the future of design competitions is somewhat on shaky ground, I've scrapped, then rethought this idea a few times over. Hopefully, whether or not BVG decides to continue with design competitions, people will still continue to at least show interest in learning how to design stuff for our little avatars. Because this thread is for those people.

Ideally, this thread will be like a one-stop shop for tutorials, guides, how-tos, and the like, as the title suggests. I'll be compiling stuff I've found helpful, along with my own materials, into various sections. Plus, I hope to have other YoWorld designers join me in writing tutorials and having Q&As. So if any of you designers are reading, please let me know if you've interest in helping me!

If anyone has a question, please feel free to ask. I'll do my best to add the solution to the main post, or simply reply to you with an answer if it's something quick.

As a final note before we get to the good stuff, I'd like to say that, no, anyone who is able to pursue art is not simply talented. It takes time, effort, and dedication. If you have those things, then I firmly believe you can go from drawing stick figures to intricate pieces you see others do, whether you think you have talent or not. YoWorld is going to be lucky to have more designers, so to whoever is reading this, I hope you give these tools a try.

*UPDATE: As of October 3rd 2016, I've replaced the link with an alternative page for downloading Photoshop CS2, due to Adobe taking down their CS2 page. However, the download and serial number is the same; it's just a different portal.
*Note: Although the site says only those who've purchased a copy of CS2 can download the programs,I have a transcript of my conversation with a representative saying CS2 is free software offered by Adobe. I've downloaded and used both Photoshop and Illustrator with no problems. If you're still unsure, you can contact their customer service yourself.

( More being added! )

Sorry for the late reply! I've not been checking this thread as regularly as I should... Heh. :shh:

I've added an Inkscape tutorial on how to draw better lines to one of the thread's posts. However, I do not draw in this particular "gradient style," plus I use Photoshop CC, so I can't exactly help you there... But I'll ask HGR if he's willing to write a quick guide, since he uses Inkscape and has a similar style to this one. :)

That's actually quite good for paint! I think if you managed to get a hand on a program that allows layers, you'd create even better designs.

Added a couple of tutorials, and updated the Templates section to include back views and different skin tones. They are also larger and taken from directly in game, thanks to the new Download Outfit button from BVG! Let me know if there's any specific skin tone you'd like added!
