I have 26 million coins in the bank, but the highest I ever had was closer to 30 million. I also own millions more in rare hair & personal items/merchandise. Here's what I do.
Try to buy things low & then resell them at reasonable rates (don't over price, no one will buy). Make sure that you list your items on the auction so that they will close at a popular time of day, like between 4 - 9 pm. A lot of people will impulsively list expensive items without checking when the item will close, only to realize later their item closed at 3 am and it sold for a lowball amount. If you want people to "dog fight" over the items your selling then make sure they close at popular times. The very best time for them to close is on weekends, because more people are online.
Aside from buying stuff on the auctions, you can also buy stuff by clicking on the "Events" tab (which is right next to your buddy list). People have online sales there that you can attend. Be careful too look up the worth of items quickly on the auctions before you impulsively buy, because some players will over price items to the point where you can't even make a profit on them. Be prepared to walk away from over priced greedy sellers & be wise about each purchase. If your a collector like me, this is also a great place to find rare items. You can also become a seller here too. You can put multiple hairs, eyes and clothes on to sell on the "Events" tab to others and make lots of money if you don't over price items & sell other items like furniture etc.
Also, before you sell anything, RESEARCH the items you want to sell to see what their really worth. One way I do this is to do a mock sale. For example, if I have some rare hair and I try to look it up to see if anyone else is trying to sell that same hair (so I can get a price comparison) but I find that no one is selling that same hair, I will go ahead and list that rare hair for 5 million dollar for 3 hours. Obviously no one will buy it, but it allows me to look at the price because after you list your item the estimated price will then be included in your online listing.
There's 2 other ways you can look up items to find their estimated worth. BUT keep in mind they aren't always 100% accurate. I've been screwed before when I underpriced an expensive item after I looked it up on one of these 2 links because they erroneously listed my items worth too low. But I would go so far as to say they are 75% correct on the prices, which does help a lot when you have no clue what to list your items for. Here's the links where you can look up yoworld items to see what their worth is:
