Hey YoFans!

Taking screenshots might be something you’ll want to get the hang of, in case you want to participate in any upcoming YoWorld contests! Here are some ways that you can take a screenshot:


On a Windows Vista PC or newer:
1. Open the Start menu, navigate to the Accessories folder, and click Snipping Tool.
2. Click “New”. Your screen should desaturate, and your cursor will change to a ‘crosshair’ shape.
3. Use your mouse to click and drag across the area you’d like to be in the image (for our purposes, this will be the YoWorld screen!).
4. Click File> Save As.
5. In the box that pops up, change the "Save As" type to JPG.
6. After typing in a name for the image, choose a location on your hard drive to save to such as the Desktop, and click "Save".

On any other Windows PC:
1. Hold down the “Alt” key, then press the "Print Screen" or "Prt Scr" button on your keyboard.
2. Open Microsoft Paint by clicking Start> All Programs> Accessories> Paint.
3. Click inside the white area.
4. Go to the Edit menu, and select Paste. If you'd like, you can edit the image to ‘trim’ it down to your YoWorld screen.
5. Click File> Save As.
6. In the box that pops up, change the "Save As" type to JPG.
7. After typing in a name for the image, choose a location on your hard drive to save to such as the Desktop, and click "Save".

On a Mac:
1. Hold down the Cmd-Shift-4 keys simultaneously.
2. Press the spacebar.
3. Click the window that you're playing YoWorld in, and the screenshot should appear as a file on the desktop labeled: "Picture 1".



To post your screenshot to the forums:

Once you have your picture saved, upload it to your favourite hosting site! Some options include imgur, tinypic, or photobucket - but most popular image hosting sites will work. Instructions for your chosen site should be available from them directly.

Once it's been uploaded, your image hosting site should give you a link to your image (one that says "Direct Link" or something similar is what will work for this). Copy the link and paste it into your comment window, then put [img] tags around it. It will look something like this:

Feel free to play around in this thread to practice - But remember to go back to your Contest thread to post your picture!

Here it is if your one of us :P
(Make sure the setting for top row is not F1, F2 etc.)
1) Hold Shift, Ctrl & Square with 3 lines to the right
2) Select the area you want to screenshot
3) It will save as "Screenshot YYYY-MM-DD at HH:MM.png"

How do you paste it in the forum though?

Hello! I uploaded the photo to the contest, but it looks small. I think it was the format in which I recorded. How I can change the picture?

We need the size of the image to submit. (pixels) this 5000 x20000 that. or a nice little 500x700 or what.

We also need the byte size allowed or megpixels. 100k or 200M. -- LOL
gif or jpg or png

I can't seem to find an accessories folder in Windows 8. How do I do this?

I have a windows 8, all you have to do is get that side screen to pop up and click search.

Enter in the search field "Snipping Tool" and that is how you get it.

totally lost on "how to post in forum " I am pretty good at my own screen shots on FB but posting it in the forum I tried BUT got lost after I found the " img " link I forget what to do after that so can you do some step by step for us old folks please.

I am on old pc like xp I can't find where to UPLOAD pic at or what to add in between the img or something or other

What is the IMAGE link? I am totally lost here is that the link we down loaded from our screen shot or what? put in laymen terms please.... do we copy that and put it in between them is that wat you are saying? sorry it has been long time since I posted pictures in the forum
