To give your art depth and layers, watch your shadowing and layering. You can create shadowing by using different shades of the same item (such as grass, rocks, tiles) and by turning some of them. this gives a more real look to it also. Make sure the size of the item fits also. Some items are too big or too small and they will distort what you are trying to achieve.
The room I used in this picture is the front room of the trailer house. I made a multi level studio apartment with a wall mural.

If you have spacific questions on how to do something, please ask.
I would also be happy to swing by and check out your project and answer any question you have on it. Just provide a link and your question. We can also meet up in game if you like.

where do I find the water jungle? that you said you used? I have a few ideas in mind for different scenes but my main one is huge goal that I set for myself,it's a matter of collecting things. I did find a photo but want to expand on that itself,at least I have an idea of what I want-this is going to be a long project an new to me so it's exciting,I think the problem will be getting it the right way as I have imagined. So many different ideas come after I have the initial scene in mind and will need help or guidance with the "how to" part of it but all the nice rooms sure inspired me..keep on keeping on gramm-I know I will be needing the help as this is all totally new to me. :D

JustJo,
I'm sure GrammaPeachy will respond to your post when she can get back in here. I just thought I'd answer about the jungle water since I know the answer and it may be a day or so. It is the Animated Jungle River from the Deep Jungle theme. It is still in store.

Use smaller objects at the top and larger as you go down the picture. Make use of portions of an item rather than the whole item mid way down and at the bottom to give the depth and multi level look.

I'm trying gramma peachy! That's not easy to do!

Love your tips! I am trying to create an ocean with waves. I saw two images in a store a few days ago that looked more like aerial photographs rather than being drawn. However I can't find them again now and have searched everywhere....SO frustrating! Do you happen to know what I'm talking about or do you have ideas on how to make an ocean with choppy waves? Thanks if you can help... ;)

Peachy misses being here but is hoping to return soon.

I'm sure there are items that can be used to give the appearance of choppy water, but I tried the *underwater light effect* from Undersea Adventure (UA2016), with the *animated crashing wave* from the recent St Patrick's Day theme (SP2018) then added the *rainstorm effect* (SP2018) and it has some potential, I think. I did just try it on a small area of water, so I don't know if it would have the same impact on a larger area. I was a little surprised when I added the rainstorm at how much more turbulent the water seemed. I know that Peachy often uses fog of some kind over water and it seems to give it a more active or dangerous tone. I'm not sure how to describe it.

I am sure Peachy and some of the more experienced creators here would know ways to create what is being asked. I will go take a look at some of Peachy's places and see what I can figure out. In the meantime, if you've already figured out how to accomplish what you were hoping for, please share with us here. Thanks.

Take a look at the Bible Tour by the Scorpions here in the Creator's Corner. You can scroll down and see rooms... such as The parting of the red sea... and Noah's Ark... The water the Ark is in looks turbulent to me. I do remember Peachy mentioning using puddles and oil splotches ? to make a river or something once. Also, snow drifts/piles would look like the foamy wave tips if utilized properly.... at least I would think so.
