Let me start with - I'M BIASED. So getting a fair opinion of the process is not going to go well. My venom on this topic is endless.

There's a rumor that Discussions is a category only for discussing "anything about the game". Some people have interpreted this to mean strictly content that is about Yo. And I'd argue back in 2010 when you couldn't read threads fast enough before they'd be on page two, this was VERY important. Categories mattered, because no one could keep up. At one point we had 11 categories, and now we have 10.

Twelve years later, Discussions moves like a crippled snail. I can check it once a week and be up to the minute with whatever is going on in the game. It's boring. It's dead. Some of that is because of the good policing that was done to remove the sh*t stirrers (*waves hello to their therapy page*). For some reason a few people thought that terrorizing other Yos was fun. But most of it is because of the buzz kill that happens when someone starts an interesting thread, and then the thread gets moved to the lower sections to be heard from by only the most die hard of forum geeks (me and a few others).

But in my head, TECHNICALLY, every thread in the forums is about Yo. Because Yo is not just about a bunch of pixels. Yo is about how PEOPLE take those pixels and bring them to life. So anything that is about the people who play Yo, is technically about Yo. But someone can't deal with that. They see others have fun and are jealous, spiteful, lonely, bored, sad, lost, or whatever their motivation is, so they complain by reporting those threads. They can't stand to see others have fun without them, so they gotta call the cops.

Now for the hard part. Modding those threads has to be done by someone. I had all the Ninjas trained at one time to leave the fun threads alone no matter who reported them. But there's no winning here for the current mods. They don't see the harm they do, so they move it to make one person quit whining. If someone reports it, it must be true? But they suck the fun right out of Discussions as they do this. No rules were being broken. Just Yos having fun with other Yos. How dare they?

So there's my messy soapbox. I'm not calling out anyone, I'm just frustrated by a process that continuously sucks the remaining little bits of fun out the forums. They need to ignore the complainers and leave the fun stuff alone. I'd argue they could combine all the categories and no one would care anymore. LOL

I stopped watching regular tv years ago. Now I only mostly watch shows on Netflix and such. I sometimes wonder why I'm still paying for regular TV when I turn it on only for the Christmas and Halloween movies and & baking challenge shows.
