But if you like chocolate, swap out the honey in the icing for 2 Tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder. You won't be angry. These are the perfect "chewy" and you'll never eat just one.
Chewy Peanut Butter Bars
INGREDIENTS
1 C Peanut Butter
2/3 C Butter, softened
1 1/3 C White Sugar
1 C Packed Brown Sugar
4 Eggs
2 Tsp Vanilla
2 C Flour
2 Tsp Baking Powder
¼ Tsp Salt
Icing
½ C Butter, softened
2 C Powdered Sugar
2 Tbsp Honey
1 Tsp Cinnamon
Heavy Cream as needed.
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease 13x9 pan.
In a medium bowl, cream together peanut butter and margarine.
Gradually blend in the sugars, eggs, and vanilla until fluffy.
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt and mix into the peanut butter mixture until well blended.
Bake for 35 minutes (top center springs back when touched).
Cool completely at least an hour.
Whip butter until fluffy.
Add powdered sugar, cinnamon, and honey and mix thoroughly.
Add and mix heavy cream to desired consistency.
Spread over bars and allow to set.
