i've never heard of "kid" vs "child", to me same thing though kid is really generic and can even refer to any offspring, regardless of age. my kid could be 30 yrs old and i'd still call him "my kid".
you can do anything you feel like doing, maybe categorize by age as it fits the items you have to store there (is this for storage?) ... well i'd do whatever YOU want to do, it's your game
here is what i'm finding when searching internet
Baby: 0 -1 yrs
Toddler: 1 - 3 yrs
Pre-School: 3 - 5 yrs
Grade-Schooler: 5 - 12 yrs
Teen: 12-18 yrs (or 13 - 18)
Young Adult: 18 - 21 yrs
https://www.healthychildren.org/English ... fault.aspxgoogling the question comes up with:
Some age-related development periods with defined intervals include: newborn (ages 0 – 2 months); infant (ages 3 – 11 months); toddler (ages 1 – 2 years); preschooler (ages 3 – 4 years); school-aged child (ages 5 – 12 years); teens (ages 13 – 19 years).
