I've not been vaccinated and I got it too. I pretty much had the same symptoms as you except I didn't lose my sense of smell. Considering all my health issues I was sure it would kill me. Yes, quarantine was the worst (after I got better)!

I got it last week and was vaccinated and it was utter ~hell~. I went down and somehow made it back up. I had a very high fever, chills, aches, a sore throat, lethargy, and a bad cough! I thought since I was vaccinated, if I got the virus I'd feel fine, but it was the complete opposite. But boy, did this virus get me and got me GOOD. At least, I got to catch up on a few shows. I'm still in isolation, however, because my symptoms only recently ended. I'm so happy they did because I do not know how much more of that I could've taken.

Glad you guys are all on the other side of feeling poorly.

I cannot wait to get my 3rd shot! Counting the days for it.
My dad, mom and sis got it last week, they got the usual symptons. I didnt get nothing, but as soon we noticed we isolated. I was close all the time, didnt wear mask around them, took care of them and quarantine with them. I took a homemade test and tested negative, ill take a pcr test at a lab in a few days, so if im still negative i can go back to work and go get 3rd shot. We still trying to find out how they got it, i guess we will never know, if i bring it to my house who knows. Maybe im one of those people with no symptons, which can be super dangerous if i wouldnt care and continue going out. Its important to get the vaccine, take care all

When you do get your booster, make sure you drink water. You wont feel side effects from it

I have all 3 shots and so have my parents. My dad did get Covid, but luckily its wasn't that bad. I did get tested but they diagnosed me with an upper respiratory infection. Aka a cold. I did have to quarantine for a couple days while I waited for my result but was able to go back to work after. (My job never closed so I worked during the start of the pandemic, but my department did split shifts.)

Eventually I contracted Covid last month, with two vaccinations, just a few days before my booster appointment was scheduled.
Only had mild symptoms. Had a lot worse colds and flus in my life before.
The 9 days in quarantine almost felt like paid vacation. I had just bought a whole bunch of groceries, including fresh veggies and fruits, the day before testing positive. I'd had a slightly scratchy throat for 5 days, and because Covid was going around at work at the time, especially in my shift, I tested myself daily before going to work. My first 4 tests were negative, so I kept going to work, until on day 5 I finally tested positive.

In my country, they decided to apply the Russian vaccine as a boost. I didn't get it because I hope to start traveling again later this year and I don't want other countries to close their doors to me. I'm considering getting the boost in the USA in the upcoming months.

I'm hoping to test negative today. I've had Covid for the last week..
Virtually no symptoms apart from a runny nose, thank goodness.

Glad you are doin ok. I'm finding that a lot of the recent infections with friends are exactly what you are experiencing. Mild at best. Hopefully this is the trend it stays on.

This is the first bit of great news about the virus in a looooong time. Researchers at UCLouvian in Belgium have isolated the residue sugar on our cells that is used as the key for the virus to attach to human cells. They've already developed a blocking agent that has been successful in preventing live covid from infecting test mice. This work will be used as basis for development of a vaccine that won't just reduce the odds and severity of infection in humans, but could effectively eradicate the virus.

I love science.

After all this time, it finally got to me.

With 2 regular shots and a boost less than 4 months ago, I've still managed to win the nasty symptom lottery. Excruciating headache, 39C (102F) fever, muscle cramps, brain fog, weakness, changes to taste and a horrible nausea. I guess it's still better than respiratory symptoms. :wailing:

I dare not think what it would look like if I hadn't been vaccinated.

I have my Vaccine and my Booster yet I still got Covid and it has hit me hard. The thing I hate the most is not being able to taste my food but then again I haven't had much of an appetite anyways. I've been staying away from people and having my groceries delivered to my home now that my town does that. They changed how many days you should stay quarantined but I am sticking with the original time of 14 days... instead of the just 3 to 5 days like they've been telling us here in my town. I keep wondering why I even bothered getting the Vaccine and the Booster if I was just gonna end up with Covid anyways? I still wear my mask out in public even though there's no more Mask Mandate but I'm not risking it besides I bought all these wonderful Masks so I might as well use them.

Had a negative test this morning, so I'm officially leaving the quarantine. I'm almost as good as new, minus the fatigue and messed-up taste buds. :phew:

It's not as horrible as some people describe it (there was a tik tok about this girl who couldn't eat anything because it tasted rotten), but I already have a lengthy list of dietary restrictions. It feels like little food I have left to enjoy is being taken away from me. My mother made roasted pork chops yesterday, and I couldn't bring myself to tell her it tastes horrible now. She knows how much I love pork (or how much I used to, obviously) and made them just for me because I haven't really had any appetite in the past week.

You and me, both. I hated it so much. I'm wishing you a speedy recovery. :rose:

I figured it would be even worse without the vaccine, so I'm really glad I was able to get it. I'm also wearing my masks even though it's not mandatory, it just feels more comfortable.

Oh man that does suck. I know several who have gone through the taste issue. All of them eventually got it back, but it wasn't immediate for any of them and took almost a year for one of them. I hope yours returns quickly and those pork chops taste better than ever......

Ikr? I've been experimenting with vegan and vegetarian meals in the past months, so it's fine by me. The only issue is my spice rack, I could swear on my life it wasn't this crowded last year... :nerd: :haha:
