Have you guys encountered something scary or creepy? It could be paranormal activities, running into creepy people, anything really! I'd love to hear them if you do!

i get random encounters but over the years i have learnt that most of if comes from my own mind.. and i can normally control it right away. so while i have learnt to be sceptical about "encounters" i am still always very openminded to hear about others. the mind does intrigue me..and mind remains open minded. it does interest me a lot.. so i will be watching this thread

I've met some creepy people.

When I was in my teens I was stalked by members of a Christian cult. I lived in a small town and I remember one day walking down the main street about to cross a road when a car turned the corner and a woman stuck her head out of the window and said "Hello insert real name here." It was so effing creepy chills went down my spine.

I went to a house with a couple of my friends where the cult congregated, can't remember if it was before or after the car thing. (I assume it was before) I sat outside while a couple of them bible bashed me and I tore them to shreds. Can't remember what I said now, I was more insightful and quick minded then. I did make one of them question their beliefs though which was quite funny to me.

My friends were in and out of the house and one of them told me they were speaking in tongues in there, which freaked him out. Earlier I heard them singing Kumbaya. No joke.

It was so weird.

I remember the day I was most scared in my life. It's very clear in my head. November 2002, I had just turned four. To condense it very much, a man broke into our home. He carried a large knife and threatened to end lives and kidnap me. It took a while to recover from that, but I eventually did. Little things have happened in life, but nothing as frightening as that.

Has anyone here ever had Sleep Paralysis? I had it once and it was terrifying. I could not move and there was something black, maybe bats flying over my head. https://www.livescience.com/50876-sleep-paralysis.html

I had it just once. I woke up and couldn't move, the general sleep paralysis stuff. I saw a light turn on behind my bedroom door and it was opening and at that moment I was able to move. It was hard to go back to sleep that night.

It sounds frightening. I've never experienced that myself but had a neighbour who frequently did and believed a demon was sitting on her chest.
I was quite young when I heard about this, so not sure what came of it. I'm semi sceptical about the paranormal, like I don't believe it is as rampant as what is seems to be but there may have possibly been a few legitimate occurences throughout history.

I have that thing where you hallucinate spiders when waking up. It doesn't happen very often and the spiders are always tiny and there's only ever one, luckily haha

I've had sleep paralysis at least twice...at least I hope it was sleep paralysis. The first
time, I was a new mother and I had just lost my great aunt, her funeral was that morning. I was woke by the feeling of an unseen someone/something sitting on the side of my bed. I then felt pressure on my chest and I could not move. I tried to move and couldn't. I then tried to scream and nothing would come out. I felt a warm tingling sensation starting at my head and it traveled down to my toes. My eyes were open then entire time I could see the sun coming through my blinds. Then all at once the pressure came off of my chest and the unseen thing that was sitting on the edge of my bed lifted off. After this I was able to move again. I jumped up out of bed to check on my baby in the crib and he was fine.

The second time I probably experienced sleep paralysis I was at work. I really don't believe it was sleep paralysis, because I don't believe I was asleep...but I don't have any otjer explaination for what happened. I remember I was watching TV it was around 3 or 4 a.m. I started seeing something big, black, and misty looking in my perephial vision. I told myself not to look directly at it, but I did anyway. I saw a huge, black, mass probably around 7 to 8 ft tall it was like a swirling, black mist...almost like smoke. I tried to speak and tell it to go away, but no sound came out of my mouth. I then started to try and "shoo" it away, but I couldn't move my arms. After about 30 of the longest seconds of my life it disappeared and after that I was finally able to move and speak again.

I think maybe it could be stress related and not real demons, that must have been awful for your neighbor. I wouldn't want to go to sleep!
I'm working on my fear of spiders, and I'm glad your spiders are tiny!

That seems like the most logical answer.

Thank you, my fear of spiders isn't as bad as it used to be although my spider nightmares tell a different story haha

Yup, had many occasions of sleep paralysis. There’s a scientific explanation for that though so I don’t think it’s related to the paranormal. I never have sleep paralysis anymore, but I used to always get them when I was going through depression. I didn’t see any demons or anything but I heard really loud helicopter sounds and saw visions of random places I’ve never seen before. I learned to enjoy it while it lasted. :haha:

3am I hear 2 knocks. Sounds like it was knock on wood. Dad says it could be neighbor's cats trying to get in cause one of them got in today and tried to friend my dad. Which is kind of weird since he is very not a cat person.

When I was really young, I shared a room with my siblings. I sleep with the window above my head and one midnight, the door was opening and closing slowly. And the window above me was sliding open and shut open and shut. I told my mom about it the next day and she told me that it was just windy outside. But how is the wind strong enough to do that? The door and windows were closed tightly.

Everytime we pass by that same old house we used to live in, I would remember that night and tell my mom about it. And she still thinks it’s the wind :haha:

If you live near a jungle/forest, keep your windows facing the jungle/forest shut always. Lots of critters.

I still get shivers thinking about this

When i was thirteen i was walking home from school, since our car didn't work and was in the shop. i knew the path well and got there normally in like 20 minutes. As im walking this guy who was jogging along the same path passes me and i move out the way and as he passes me i hear him whisper one my friend's name. i figured it was a mistake so i kept walking. so he ends up looping back around and passes me again and whispers another name, who is the first ones younger sister. i stop, look at him confused and he winks and turns, running off the path. i was so scared i made it home with 5 minutes to spare. the really scary thing about it is that when i went to my friend's house, she has this room i always guessed was a spare guest room/ storage space because its always locked, but it really belonged to her oldest brother that passed away and when she showed me a picture, talking about him and reminiscing i got nauseous because it was the jogging guy. i lost contact with that friend when we started high school but man i will never forget that.
