I am having trouble visiting my friends because my buddy list is going off and on all the time and it is so annoying....I miss catching up with my friends on yo and chatting with them! Does anyone else have this problem? It really is taking the enjoyment away from the game for me :'(

I have this issue too, I just end up constantly refreshing until it works

Have you tried putting this in the bugs reporting category, perhaps it might get a better response and be reviewed by the relevant team for you?

I have to refresh 3 times before the buddy list starts to work again. Considering that the game has constant server drops, returning to a non-active buddy list is just salt on the wound.
