Happy you got poked - as long as it was what you wanted. Hope ya feel better soon. :)

When I turn 65 I'll start getting vaccinated for crap. My immune system already fought off covid. I try to get around every bug I can to keep my system agile and strong. When it's my turn for a dirt nap, so be it. Death and I are old friends no matter how it finally finds me.

Not yet, I'm not in a high risk category or a healthcare worker. I think they're starting to vaccinate teachers in Nashville, but beyond that most of your normal, under 55 populous still hasn't been able to get them here.

I am hearing that if you're dead-set on getting the vaccine, that if you show up at one of the clinics late in the day and ask sometimes they can. They are apparently having to throw vaccines away at the end of the day if not enough people have shown up that day. That may be primarily here in the south though, not everyone here is sold on them.

Congratulations on getting yours though! I've heard from a couple of doctors that have already gone through it that the 2nd is the worst. I hope you get to bouncing back quickly.

That's great, Mario! My mom had hers and has to go back on March 18th for the second dose.

I hope I can get mine before June.

I did. Upside is I am not more sore than normal, but I am my normal sore so hey.... win win for the Lupus squad :D Lupies tend to have high pain tolerance since we function daily under whole body pain. We’ve been training for this for a LONG time

We have limited pfizer and blood clotting astrazeneca  which is not recommended for under 50s.. Personally I am waiting for Novavax. which is a more traditional protein vax...Hoping by the time its approved and in OZ we can choose our poison..

We got Pfizer about 10 days ago. No side effects at all.

I read an excellent article about why we shouldn't worry all that much about which vaccine we get from an efficacy standpoint. I wanted Moderna, but the article made me realize it really didn't matter for me. I know it does matter for pregnant women and other reasons though.

UGH >.<

I got the second Moderna one on Sat and it didn't go as well as the first lol.

In fact it kicked my toosh. I was so sick by the next day. Rash, stomach issues, exhausted, arm I couldn't even lift, and splitting headache. I felt like a car accident victim that caught the flu. ( And I am no stranger to body aches but WOW) even my toes ached.

I still have a headache and the injection site is all swollen and red.

Be warned. #2 is no joke. Glad I did it but I am strongly considering not doing it again as that was rough. Or trying to find J&J one and done.

I got my second Pfizer vaccine yesterday and I am now fully vaccinated! :D Other than a sore arm, I am completely fine. I hope this helps anyone that may be feeling a little nervous about the vaccine. You can do it!

I have had both doses (Pfizer). The day after the second I had a bit of a headache and was maybe a little more tired than usual, plus the sore arm. It was nothing I would have payed much attention to if I hadn't been looking for things after the vaccine.

Hubby had both does as well (Moderna). He had a sore arm and a very slightly elevated temperature.

I have a few things that make me higher risk. Plus I work for an eye doctor and people are always wanting to take off their masks in the room when I'm trying to get them to read the eye chart because it's fogging up their glasses. Even when I tell them to lightly cover their eye with the paddle, 9 out of 10 smash their glasses to their face and poof they are completely fogged :silly: So yeah, I was happy to get the vaccine. I also get my flu shot every year.

Had my first BionTech shot just 3 days ago. The second one, also BionTech, will follow in mid- june. The first 13 hours after my shot I only felt a teeny tiny soreness in my left (non-dominant arm I choose for the vaccination) when lifting it up high (above my head). Then the soreness increased a little and happened when moving the arm even to the side. After night shift at work and sleeping it was all gone and I've felt great since. I doubt I'd be able to notice if the first or second dose of vaccination made me tired. Working full time with a good deal of overtime in a 3 shift system with frequent shift changes, and having hashimoto's disease I constantly feel tired and exhausted already. :haha:

I really want to get mine, but i wont get it anytime soon cause I am not in the 3 main risk groups defined in my country, so I have to wait until all the people in line get the vaccine. Im happy cause mom and dad will get it soon, and my sis will travel to get it. Im just gonna wait and wait and maybe next year lol

In Texas they've started the "COME AND GET IT!!" game. They've poked everyone who desperately wanted it and those who think they wanted it. And now they are trying to poke the people who aren't sure about it and those who will definitely not get it. I'll get it when it is convenient to get from my doctor at my physical. I'm not standing in line or registering or wading through a crowd to get poked. I've already had the wild virus once and lived.

People from my country are running to Dallas and Houston to get vaccinated. Someone offered me to go with them, but I can't lose two days of work atm. I'll get vaccinated next month, when is my turn here.

That's an interesting twist. I hope everyone who wants to get poked has a chance as soon as they can get it - no matter their country of origin. I know the people in Texas are now 99% done with this virus. I see fewer and fewer masks every time I get out. The restaurant I had dinner at Sunday evening was at 100% capacity and not a single mask was seen inside - by customers or employees. We're at our lowest infection rate in 10 months and deaths are way down as well.
