Do any of you guys take part in retail therapy? Do you find that it actually makes you happier/relieves your stress to shop and buy things?

I have depression, anxiety, and bpd tendencies. So retail therapy is my middle name. :haha:

Does it make me happier? No. LMAO I'm so impulsive and I just buy, buy, buy. Then I look at my bank account and I ask myself why, why, why. :dizzy:

The past week I bought a 300 dollar fitbit, a 300 dollar indoor mini generator, a swimming pool for my dogs, 3 pairs of glasses, a pair of sunglasses, and some other odds and ends. Oh and workout clothes for the 2000 dollar treadmill I bought last month.

And this weekend I already plan on buying a purse and some crystals for my altar. :nerd:

What about you? Tell me about your latest retail therapy episode. :silly:

That's not even the half of it. It's pretty much an everyday thing that she has something showing up at the door and the boxes and boxes that I have to take weekly to the recycle bin :wailing: :wailing: she really does have a shopping problem :haha: :haha: me I order something every once in awhile and I'm happy :smug: :silly:

Buying plants and working in my gardens makes me so happy! I can come home with a car full of plants with no place to put them, so I build more gardens. During the winter, I make lists of plants. :D

Yeah! I wear lots of t-shirts and sweats and working out on the treadmill in those was pretty brutal so I had to buy some athletic clothes. :haha:

To your retail therapy, what's your favorite plant/flower? I'd love to see pics of your garden if you have any to share and don't mind sharing them!

I believe everyone uses a myriad of coping mechanisms in life, the key is finding a good balance that works for you. The last therapeutic purchase I made was a new yoga mat. Oooommmm. :D

See sometimes I go through months-long phases where I have no interest in spending anything and actively try to declutter and minimalize my belongings. And then I go through short bursts where I just feel the need to spend so much. I think makeup would be my weakness. Especially when it's from a brand I like like MAC and ESPECIALLY when it's a limited edition collection with cute packaging. We have a CCO in my state and it's basically a store that sells Estee Lauder owned makeup brands like MAC and Clinique for 40-75% off the original retail price and I do SO much damage when I go there. I justify it because of the low low prices.

I used to collect crystals but I slowly lost interest in it and gave my collection away to my sister. I kept a few though that I thought were so beautiful. What kind of crystals do you have?

I love shopping! For me its all about bags, purses, and mini backpacks, those cause me trouble cause i want them all and spend a lot of money getting them.

The other day I ordered an original Harris tweed mini backpack from Uk, just because I was scrolling Etsy, and I saw it and I needed I had to have it. Well from Uk to my country is a long way, but im here super happy wanting to get all the possible colors of it in the next months :haha: Bags are my adiction

@Robyn VIP: your garden is absolutely stunning, what a beautiful flowers you have there  !

When I was a teen and 20-something yes I loved it. But honestly, I've found it gives me a small amount anxiety lately. Spending money on stuff isn't always the most fun thing in the world. As a rule I'd rather know it's in my bank account in case I need it.

Funny, because I do like having nice clothing and especially nice things in my home. It's wonderful once it's budgeted and done, just stressful to plan and buy stuff. Now I do get excited to plan trips and eat at new places anymore. Much more into experiences than things the last 7 years or so.

I do however love shopping in Yo. That sort of retail therapy is awesome.
