Hello normal people. This thread is not for you. :shocked:

I cannot tell you guys how PUMPED I am for October 22. I'm already a huge movie buff, but my movie woody is out of control for this. I've read the book. I've seen the 1984 version at least 5 times. The advances in movie tech have been mesmerizing since 1984. The previews are unreal. The casting looks fantastic. My expectations are off the charts.

I'm sorry to bother all of you with my excitement. My wife said if I don't stop talking about it, she's going to put drugs in my food. I haven't fangirled this hard for a movie in a long time. I simply cannot wait.

I've not heard about the new movie, but it's awesome to see people begin to be excited about movies again. I've not seen one since Star Wars and really miss going, especially after COVID closing it all down.

Adding a mischievous Mr. Bean is almost never a bad idea. :haha:

I’m very excited for it and it has a good list of actors. I was so disappointed that it was pushed back to October and when I heard the news last year. I will say as far as the book, I’ve tried reading it twice and I cannot get past the first few chapters!! It’s like reading a foreign language because every other word I have to keep looking up.

The verdict is in - it's better than I expected, and that's almost not possible. I was worried they'd lose the story in the effects, but they focused on the story and wrapped it with effects. The dynamics between characters are there (unlike the first version), and they are taking their time with the parts of it that need lot's of time. I'm pretty pleased with the casting, with very few shallow spots in the performances. Can't wait for Part 2, but it may not happen if the box office doesn't improve......

I will be watching it soon! Not on HBO, in theaters :smug:

Yes it was a mini series. The books are massive and hurt my head, but worth it. The guy used vocabulary like a gauntlet to prove we are worthy. LOL It was also a 1984 film that is not very good (my opinion).

If you enjoy a good movie, you'll like the new one and probably really like it. If you enjoy scifi, you'll love it. It was a good ride in my book!
