This is not a post about politics. I know better than that in here.

But as I've aged, I've watched people who get into politics do and say things that astound me. They absolutely devolve over time into creatures that are simply unforgivable. All of them. Every party. At almost every level. The higher up they get, the worse people they become. Their desire to stay in power combined with their party's money whipping, turns them into deceptive, blame shifting, incompetent, unethical, untrue, hypocritical, and morally bankrupt idiots. They pander to their money sources no matter what the right decision should be. They sell their souls. And the longer they stay in power, the worse they become.

The other issue with them is that there is no push to change anything. People vote for the familiar names, assuming it's everyone else's guy that is the problem. But it's not. It's that senator or congressperson we've all voted for 20+ years in a row. They are corrupt. They use us. They steal from us. And we just keep on letting them.

I've started voting for the new guy in every single election. I don't care about party or platform anymore. I make a list of the incumbents and simply vote the other candidate now. And if I know that someone is running who has never been in politics, they get my vote every time.....until the next election.

Excellent post. What always upset me to see is politicians build an entire 'platform' on certain stances and issues and then vote towards policies that directly contradict the entire platform that they built their political image on. I can't identify or align myself with any politician. I just find myself being let down by their hypocrisy and corruption.

I've come to realize this is true.
