I've a friend who lives alone with her 3 dogs in an apartment complex. A few weeks ago she got a notification on her Ring camera from 2 in the morning. A man walked up to her door and had placed a note commenting that he enjoys watching her dogs, he is very shy, and that he is interested in her. She is not interested in him. But since then her Ring camera has shown him watching her apartment a few more times between midnight and 2 am.

I'm the paranoid type who knows just how creepy us guys really are when we get fixated. And I am worried for my friend, so much so that I've offered to loan her a gun (this is Texas lol). I've also demanded that she file a police report (she did), contact her apartment management (she has), and ask her neighbors about him (she hasn't).

I'm worried that I've over reacted, while simultaneously being worried that I haven't done enough. I know we can't stop all the evil in the universe. But I'll be damned if someone I know is going to get victimized by a stalker. Am I missing anything? Would you guys have recommended the same? Did I over react?

As a gun owner, I would never lend one out for any reason. Sounds like your other advice was solid.

If he's coming to her home at off hours like 2 am and watching her It's best to be safe then sorry. I don't think you overreacted by wanting to protect her from some mysterious dude. For all you know the note was just to cover his tracks that he was caught on camera. I hope she's ok and if he keeps doing it she should definitely contact law enforcement.
