Have fun? Good! So now, let’s talk about our content team.
Our content team is comprised of a variety of different roles, but there are a few key points about the team itself that are important for this discussion. The first is that our artists fit one of two categories: decor or clothing. Creating art for decor items and creating art for clothing items are two very different processes, so it wouldn’t make sense to have one artist create both.
One of the concerns we’ve seen come up quite a bit recently is a lack of decor items, and players believing that we don’t care about decorators. I can tell you that this couldn’t be any further from the truth. You don’t have to look back very far to find themes with half the number of decor items as our current themes - that’s because we’re constantly expanding our team - and we’re continuing to work on creating more and more quality items specifically to help decorators out!
We’ve very recently hired a new artist specifically for decor, but it’s important to note that onboarding takes longer than you would think. It might sound counterintuitive, but new people on our team actually
slow down art for the first while. There are a lot of things involved in hiring, training, and bringing a new Viking up to speed, and all of those things take art resources away from actually creating art.
But with all of that said, we do hear you. As a team, we’ve committed to working on being more consistent in the items that are released, and creating items that allow you as YoFans to be more creative in your decorating. We’ll also do our best to provide you with more opportunities to generate your own experiences. More suggestion threads, more responses to your feedback, and a more interactive experience overall are all on our list of goals.
So once again: thank you to everyone who has shared constructive feedback with us, both within that thread and outside it. We’re working to make changes to our processes, and while change is good, it also takes time. Please bear with us - good things are coming to those who wait!
We
you all. Really, we do.
