I think they both have their pros and cons but personally I'd rather be at a closed auction rather than an open auction.

I like open because of the variety of items that come in to be sold, but open auctions can also be a zoo if the owner can't manage it correctly.

Both are alright.

Open auctions have some great regulars.

Closed auctions also have some regulars; some nice, some not so nice... they're so expensive though. It mostly seems like 08/09 items.

I haven't been to many closed auctions. I prefer open auctions, especially of Val or DV.

The people that come to them + The owners themselves make it fun.

Pros and cons for both but at least in closed you don't hear "cutter!"

I like closed better, even though these days it seems to be people just showing off their coins.

I perfer open auctions. Althought 80% of the time the sellers poof, it's a good way to hang out with friends and also buy things. ^_^
