I think it would be nice if would could place items in the black areas in rooms.I know we can place rugs but it would be cool if we could put chairs,sofas,ect..

You actually can place items like chairs/sofas/etc. in the black area. There is a trick to it....I think there is a thread in the "How To" section that describes how to do it....
