Ok, I didnt know where to post this (Sorry If this is wrong place to post) but I am still a noobie at Gimp, and I was wondering how do I change the color to make the background clear when I take out the white with Fuzzy select to make it have no background?

How to make a transparent backround?
1: make the entire background white
2: use the color select and put in the color "white"
3: select all the white then right click and click "cut"
hope this is what you're looking for.. :)

If you look to your right on layers there should be a layer labeled "Background" Usually i myself keep this untouched and delete it. Delete that layer (Or simply make it invisible) And save the file in .PNG form and it should work.

I hope this is what you were asking :)

*PS* And in forum signature terms this is considered making a signature a transparent signature. :)

You can also use the scissors tool and go around your avatar, then invert it if you want.

make a new layer, you should get some options, choose transparent. Drag the transparent layer to the bottom in the layer panel and delete the one named background. Now the transparent layer will take the place of the background one.

Alternatively search "How to make a transparent background using GIMP" on youtube.
