Love this pumpkin patch! So cute!!

This whole paint board issue has me heartbroken. Anyone got a very quick synopsis???? Like three lines of the latest and that's it. My brain just can't overcome the ADD to read 53 pages of posts. Like I'm wondering...

1. Any update from BVG on fix or next steps? (Andrew definitely mentioned it coming back bigger, better, stronger, faster than before!) Like how long...I need my
signage back!
2. Did they mention anything about the retrieving files when they're back up and running -- like most of you, several of my boards where personal,
hand made the hard way, and very important to me. (and to all of you too, I'm sure!)
3. Is anyone coming up with any work-arounds?

:heartbroken: :heartbroken: :heartbroken: :heartbroken: :heartbroken:

This is just a huge blow in the gut. :'(

I’d like to take a moment to clarify a few things on behalf of the team:

Whenever we look at taking action in game, our first focus is to make a change that impacts as small of a player group as possible. It doesn’t matter if it’s a bug, or an art issue, or a problem with a larger feature like the Buddy List - we know any change that’s made to YoWorld on a large scale has a chance to truly, genuinely harm your experience. I hope, at the very least, this can convey that the seriousness of this issue meant we could not stand by idly after we discovered the risk to our community at large.

We cannot fully discuss the details behind the trouble with our Paint Boards, but we can say that the main issue involved the use of uploaded images, violating ToS, and as such, we are required to remove this feature. In disabling them there have been a lot of valid points brought up within the community that should be addressed. Mostly around the way we’ve gone about our current, temporary solution.

Why disable all Paint Boards? The issue we needed to address in Paint Boards required us to disable the feature as the only means of protecting the community. This is due to the way the Paint Boards item works. As an older item, with older code, the solutions we have access to are much more limited.

Can’t we just fix it? Any change we would make to this feature would require a total overhaul of the Paint Board item.

Why didn’t you let me save my work? This is, currently, not how Paint Boards work. While the images are saved locally, any change or update to the Paint Board feature means that any work on the item as it currently exists is lost.

Will I get my images back? We understand how important this feature is to our players and we are actively exploring ways to address this concern.

Our team understands that these items don’t just represent creative fun - they’re an investment you’ve made. We aren’t ready to discuss compensation with the community yet, but we’re absolutely going to find a way to make this right.

The very nature of the item means that the second something was to go wrong, or any fix needed to be made, your work was at risk. Naturally, this wasn’t a problem when the item was working as intended. When things are fine, there’s nothing to worry about.

With this particular discovery of a ToS violating complication in Paint Boards action needed to be swiftly taken, which meant that the underlying issue within Paint Boards arrived much sooner than we expected.

Our team is extremely aware of the way Paint Boards are used. We know these items are integral to many social events, and have become a key component in your decorating. The art that you’re showing off here is a true testament to that. We also know that these items are key parts of events, trading, conversations between players, and are a staple to allowing you to decorate in creative ways our team can only begin to catch up on. So where does that leave us?

Our team is working on a solution for this particular issue. This situation involving Paint Boards is complicated, but we have a lot of faith in our team’s ability to resolve this issue.

We know you probably have questions, and we’ll be opening up a thread here for you to focus them all in one place.

My sister who was also my best friend passed away January-16-2021, it was extremely hard on me, I designed a memorial room for her, it was actually for me of her. I paid a great deal of money to have her put in my game. Got to her room and immediately remembered she was one of my boards!! This board is very very important to me, it is all I have of my sister and you have taken it away? Can you not freeze it and give it back to me. Can you disable the animation and give my picture back to me? This is so devastating to me, this is what I would go see from time to time to get me through a rough patch.
Image
This is all I have now, when she left I was heartbroken and mentally broken! And now thanks to you I have to go to a broken wall!
Image
I paid a lot of money for this, but all I want back is the picture of my guardian angel, my sister, my best friend! Your telling me with all the computer programmers you have there NO ONE can deem my paint board untouchable by other players. so I can have her back????

 :rose: I'm so sorry for your loss. And this is what hurts the most about the boards. So many have memorial rooms for loved ones and they've been torn apart. That is beyond painful. :heartbroken:

The problem is I don't think BVG has nearly as much staff as they used to. They take forever to fix or overhaul anything. Look at how long the inventory testing has been going on. The store themes are suffering from lack of a content/design team. They're using AI for so many things and throwing everything into deals, casino or crates. And still backed up with the help tickets. They are cash grabbing and not using the cash to hire enough staff to design and fix issues. It's a mess. They don't care about having a functional game and are just all about cash.

Thank you very much! And I completely agree. The game has been going down hill for quite some time now, and they could care less, the last ticket I had went unread. You are the one that helped me last time. It seems to me like they aren't even trying any more. It is hard for me to buy a house any more because of lack of imagination on their part, They have Livingroom, kitchen, bedroom and occasionally bathroom, then BONUS ROOM 1, BONUS ROOM 2. When they have lack of imagination, I have lack of enthusiasm! When they label the room for instance dining/kitchen, I strive to make it the best dining/kitchen I can, but when they say bonus I become bewildered like a deer in headlights!

And most of the time I don't even understand where they are going with a theme, everything is "curated classic" but not classic to fit the current theme?? Right now we are in not one but 2 possibly 3 themes at once? WHO KNOWS??
Image plus fairy?? I keep changing my avi from "Royal to Mafia to Fairy?? I feel like I am running in circles! And the curated classics are from Baroque
Image Image
And XO2024
Image Image
the 2 themes have NOTHING in common. And if that isn't enough we are in full blown Mafia mode??

I am about ready to throw in the towel!! Thank you for responding to my heartache!

Well, it's been a month. We were told we would be compensated for the loss of our paint boards. Still waiting on THAT one. It isn't going to happen, is it? No. Because it seems BVG doesn't really care about us. Bad form.

Theres a song
'Say something, I'm giving up on you'
by 'A Great Big World'
It is a sad song about endings and walking away.

If your plan is to wait for this to blow over, its not working.
Its feeling more and more like you don't want to bother to make this right by your players and are just hoping it will all just blow over.

This smack down has made Yo grow sad where there once was once lots of happiness.
This was too big to just blow over and forget.

I can't imagine that your sales have not been affected.
I know many spenders who have now left over this and I was hoping you would do something to bring them back.
I know even more that have been deeply disappointed and affected by this, including myself.

how soon?

What is the legal definition of soon?
SOON Definition & Legal Meaning

If there is no time specified for the performance of an act, or if it is specified that it is to be performed soon, tlie law implies that it is to be performed within a reasonable time.
Definition of ''reasonable time
It is a vague term and depends on the circumstances

I don't think most of us take much stock in "soon" anymore. "Big things coming soon!" Near the end of inventory testing supposedly, and it will be done "soon." And I really don't like comparing it all to Zynga, but the "soon" was their favorite answer to everything, especially before they shut the game down.

Also, I wonder if the update will just letting us know you are working on a fix and will have more updates "soon" and not an actual answer or fix.

FREAKING PROVE IT THEN!!!! I'm beyond sick of BVG saying things will change or update SOON and it not happening. ALL of us deserve a resolution this this. You've lost a lot of people because of this, and will continue to lose more I promise you! :grr :grr :grr

I found another one of my creations my friends enjoyed. Some of my Yo-friends received copies of Snoopy's doghouse and Charlie Brown Xmas tree. I never made any Yo cash or coins for my creations, I just gifted them to whoever asked.

Even though we have lost many of our treasured creations, I am thankful for the paint board artwork challenge that inspired me to learn Gimp, (which is a free Photoshop like program). It has become my go-to program for all my image manipulations, which has proven to be rewarding.

I do hope we get our creations back, but if we don't, I hope they will consider providing tools to create our own furnishings.

Fingers crossed - Janet... :)

[..."We definitely care"...] We players surely care more than you do guys..
[ "...Wel'll have an update to provide soon..." ] I think you guys should have compensate us fast as fast you have been to disable the boards... what that for you is "soon" for us is "late"..
