However I ask myself is this effect more worse than if the tons of decorators just stopped decorating and financially supporting the game. This is an issue that BVG will need to seriously consider.

I'm thinking that a compromise to this situation could be a limited flash re-release of certain items within themes - such as tiles / doors /curtains / floors. Definitely not any collectibles! It could be done over a number of weekends so that, say one weekend its a flash re-release of one theme. Then that is taken out and the next weekend its a flash re- release of another theme. I really don't know how this could work - the most obvious advantage would be the immediate influx of financial support to the game and those like me who feel that stability in rarity of items should maintained as far as it is practicable - could not argue that such a limited re-release would damage the economy in the long term. Another advantage to such an idea would be that it would bring back a high level of players during the weekends when such sales were held and keep players logging in to see what the flash theme was going on.

I don't know. I really don't. I'm just now alot more sensitive to the plight of those whose main purpose is to decorate in game. My focus has always been the fashion and hairs so I decorate when and if the mood takes me.

The only thing with this is jo. That once people get one re-release they'll always want more. Or you'll have others saying that's not what I wanted I want this. That's how it always happens. I myself am happy they won't re-release. And Bvg has their own 3d designer starting next week. So hopefully soon we'll see how that turns out.

Just saying too :D

But there are people who dont talk much and just act on it.

Yeah and there's people that just talk too ;) but i'm not going to argue. Bvg said no re-releases and that's good enough for me. I just figured with them stating that in black and white that maybe we wouldn't see these kind of post anymore but I guess I was wrong lol

It will be ok :)

The true decorators in the game don't care about the old things unless they are items like: doors, windows, tiles, rocks, plants.....etc Those are things we use so many time to create rooms. I am not interested in anyone's old precious "rares" but yeah, grass tiles would be nice.

I am really hoping that BVG will eventually create a "decorator theme" that will never expire. I know it would offend some, like the person who was charging 300k for a Hollywood graveyard dirt tile at a sale I went to last week, but I think for the most part no one would complain if they knew up front this stuff wouldn't expire.

I know. I can see the floodgates open with any re-release.And that is probably the biggest problem. Nonetheless I do think we need do address this issue.

And maybe therein lies a solution. But would that mean that there would be parts of a theme( decoraters items) that would never expire even if the main theme does?? That could bring about a plethora of issues.

I'm just happy I aint BVG who have to balance the needs of different players. Its a hard one to deal with for sure.

Well they are very good about listening. Perhaps if a theme has many decorator items in it, they would be willing to listen to what people want to keep and only put timers on the other things......I don't know. It is a lot to consider but I really don't think keeping some items around forever will hurt the Yo economy.

Yeah that is already very evident ( BVG listening to players). It is a lot to consider.

@OP - It was the clear way you described your position that made me understand better the flip side to my position. :D

It wouldn't hurt the yo-economy to keep decor pieces. Give the collectors their timed rares or whatever. But BVG has to consider THEIR personal economy and the decorators are a BIG part of that. Probably more so than what the uniform wearers contribute. :)

Yeah me too lol...and yes I agree that the decorators do need their own themes like autumn suggested. I'm all for that.
I just think we all pretty much know where re-releases head in the game :) I myself have been waiting for some new furniture myself though. And I sure hope it doesn't take long. I've been getting pretty antsy.

BVG doesn't have to re release anything to help decorators ... they just have to make some new items, grass, walls etc. and keep them in the stores.. simple.. new grass..all kinds.. new walls.. all kinds.. etc... constant supply in stores, never removed...

myself I like linking properties together, and nothing sucks more than linking 3 homes, with same 'theme'.. and then you run out of tiles, or walls, and they are no longer in the store.. stops you dead in your track .... so a new, constant supply of decorating items, VERY REASONABLY PRICED (because sometimes hundreds of these items are needed) ..

I fortunately stocked up on those types of things, and do so every time something new comes along .
