And I'm getting sick of seeing Gary's post slapped on every thread. Make a contribution of thought instead of an ambiguous screen shot.
What I think that screen shot suggests is that we should expect things like the slayer tank, the milk and cookies, the cat clock, the valjean and the cluck tub to hit stores at some point.
Obviously others like Rain think it's just directly attributed to the cross.
It's all perspective.

It's completely subjective.
To someone a week may not be a decent chunk of time, to others it could be an eternity.
It's basic common sense, Samberg. I know you have some of that laying around. Now is the time to apply it.
Anyway good night.
But it isn't just "basic common sense." I get that you want to support BVG and I have as well and have praised them a lot. At the same time, I don't think the vague statement is helpful. When we got Halloween 2012 items, there were a few things that were added right very close to the end of the theme...a couple days later the theme was closed. Was that a "decent enough chunk of time" for people to get those items? People were scrambling to find a yocash dealer so they wouldn't miss those items. Again, it is not as clear as you keep saying it is, and quite frankly a bit condescending saying it is "basic common sense" because others don't agree.

So much about making new stuff, similar to rare ones so everybody can be happy.. They could have made a prettier cross, no matter how much time it would require and players would have been way satisfied.
Yes, because it was announced and well established in advance. There were no surprises there to anyone who logged on at least once every couple of weeks. That's a totally different scenario.

I think this release does create cause for concern about other items that were officially released. The one thing I have liked all along about BVG is that they seem to be very upfront with their players/customers. We never had that with Z. I think there are some of us out here who value trust. This isn't as much about the item that was released, as it is about what they said, that kept getting revised as time went on. I had deja vu when the ninjas said 08 costumes would never be re-released, yet in 09, they were. I can't lie, that was what I thought when I heard the cross was re-released.
Everything you said was spot on and eloquently stated. I feel there's a hypocrisy and it reeks like Z and the Ninjas pandering to the suck ups.
I am happy that many people got their Cross as they wanted, and totally agree that a slightly altered one would have been a better decision. BVG lost so much cred to me with this move. I'm not a collector. I'm actually a person who doesn't care if everything is re-released and put into a Zynga Stuff area of the store. This is more about the items that did leave the game without warning (YoDepot or House Windows from Yoville.com) will not be brought back by BVG.

With a big loan hanging over their head, wonder if this was a deciding factor for Bvg to do what they do. I lost a lot of item value also in the past but have come to personally accept it that words can change or interpreted differently to suit business needs. Who knows if my cat clock, chicken tub and other stuff comes out again. When I bought them that time was cause I liked the look, never thought it would rise in value. Maybe I'll get few more and put in more houses.

I'm sure not trying to be condescending, but another thing here is....a lot of people asking these questions are very suspicious and doubtful because they are used to Zynga's shenanigans. Gary and the Vikings have been nothing but upfront the whole way, including what they were considering releasing and what they were not considering releasing.
The only "big surprise" here is that BVG is more honest than Zynga ever was. Not really a surprise to me, but perhaps to some.
The Cross was open for release. I'm not surprised to see it at all, like I've said in a few threads. It's not a precedent of anything. It's an item that was released and pulled within minutes. It's an item that by all accounts BVG said a long time ago was subject to an official release. There is nothing surprising at all about this.
