You worded how I,too, feel, very well. Everything feels so rushed now and I find myself more overwhelmed than anything else.

I loved having the time, up to 2 months to really enjoy a theme, decorate and be creative. It felt so much more satisfying that this "throw away" world we live in now.

Anyhow just saying hi :)

I joined in 09 but didn't start really playing until '10.

I remember back when I was a noob, selling all my freebies to make coin. Glad I still have some. I miss how in front of Altons was the freak show basically, it was always entertaining and a good way to meet people. I miss all the creative events and the occasional trolling event which could be good for a laugh. I also miss all the whiteboard art. Now, every time I go to an event selling at it's just a print not something the seller has made. I regret not buying some back in the day but I was always afraid of buying a blank board.

I also remember buying my first permanent hair which was called permanent red fairy, why I thought I was the bomb in that hair!

I started in late 2008 on myspace and then in 2009 on facebook. I miss some of the stuff from the old old days, but I really like the newer yo much better. I will admit tho that the game has too much coming at us too fast. Id like it to sloooow down a bit.

I had to slow the game for myself, since BVG doesn't seem interested in doing that. There's way too many players that need something every day or they might lose their minds...or at least interest in Yo. But I don't like to play that way, so I don't.

I barely pay attention to the new stuff any more. What I learn about it I mostly learn in here or by visiting decorated rooms. I'll not be driven by events or specials or mysteries or anything outside of what I want to do and when I want to do it.

I wish BVG would take the time to make things special again. They've fallen for the same trap that Zynga did early in 2012. They push to keep people engaged, rather than risk losing them by allowing them to get bored and hungry for more. So they stuff us with crap until it feels like standing in front of a firehose. And then we get numb or burned out because it is just too much.

And that's the truth of it. :)

I guess I would be considered an old timer. Been playing this beast of a game for 10 years. I left for a while and came back. Things sure has changed...

very true... there are zero items in the game released now that have that special feeing... the exclusives are not special... to be blunt, they are just high priced CRAP(in general) with a shiny title.
there is no excitement because they are not only crappy items but they are every month and there is no surprise or anticipation. BVG does many things well but causing excitement and anticipation are not among their strengths. its just gotten stale. since the game took over.. i was only excited 2 times....1. when BVG announced they had bought the game from Zynga. 2. when they promised us yo.com and said it was only 2 months away from being released.....then ripped it out of my grasp........

actually, maybe 3 as the clothing layering was pretty exciting at 1st as well

SPLAT!

Splatting was lots of ridiculous FUN! I even made several FB friends via their random splats!

Class of '09 here. Thanks for asking, Taurus!

'08 here...Do you remember when we couldn't even sit or when there was no yocash?
I continue to play but it's a solitary game since most of my friends have left the game.
Thanks for bringing up good memories. :)

09'er here.
It's hard to believe that I've been playing this game for 10 years!
So much has changed...not all of it good. But the game still lures me in somehow.
It's good to see so many long time players here!!

Started about 4 months after YoVille began. Still here. Definitely have some return characters now that come out when it's their turn. The Ice Queen is one of my all-time favorites, she just came back today. :cold:

i started early 09 and remember seasonal and holiday type releases (winter, valentine's 09, st pats etc), a few themes .. i had no idea if there was any pattern or regularity to releases but i must admit i was clueless

I was more clueless than you. I remember you sending me gifts and you had to *tell me* to send them back! :D YoWorld is still the only game I play. Now THAT is loyalty. I think you taught me a lot in the early days, Loie. Thanks for that. It reminds me of learning code in 1985, was clueless about computer programming. Who knew a typesetting job would turn me into a geek? Now look at us all--the whole world is a bit geeky. With AI we'll all be obsolete in the near future as well! Hope my AI Yo will live on and play for me when I'm gone.

Some of Zynga's collectibles (I guess those would be equivalent to these days' exclusives) were amazing.
If I remember correctly there was usually one YoCash one and one YoCoins one. Even the coins ones were affordable and good quality & unique.

I started in January of 2009 & have been here most of the time since then. I've taken a few breaks during themes I wasn't interested in but mostly have been around. Things are sure different now than they were in 2009.
