Thanks Fiore! Just some bad eggs. I really thought designers should all help each other and support each other, I guess some really can’t hold back from being rude.

I'm going say this again - everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is allowed to have their own opinion - but when it borders being rude/disrespectful, is when it starts crossing the line.
Appreciate ALL styles and appreciate EVERY designer who's TRYING.

Loving everyone's entries so far. I needed to get this off my chest - as it's annoyed me.

Every great creative force gets criticized when they go public. Chefs, musicians, fashion designers, etc etc all take some serious heat about what they do. It is definitely part of the deal. And with the internet, everyone thinks they are a legit critic and they are unashamed to do so ruthlessly. Being nasty seems to be all some people are good for.

OK that is enough of the "downer" side of the equation. Bobby Flay once had a terrible review from a blogger for one of his new restaurants. He had it printed out and posted it for everyone at the restaurant. It was their reminder that even if they did all perfectly, someone would still whip them for it. And they used it as a rallying cry to get better and sharper and stay on top of everything and it was one of his most successful restaurants. Don't let the negativity get to you - instead use it to make you stronger. Prove them wrong with every line and color. Make liars out of them all. Dominate whatever it is they think they can tear down. And if those little whispers of doubt creep in and try to tell you that you just don't have what it takes...........BULLSH*T. Keep working at it. Grow. Evolve. And most of all......CONQUER.

Keep it up! I love seeing new designers every contest. The new styles and different ideas from everyone is super fun to see. Dang right, as long as you’re having fun, who cares about what anyone else thinks?! You have your own style and you’re absolutely rocking it.
Me too, everyone has entered such cool ad unique designs, still hoping for some more designers to enter though, love seeing what everyone comes up with!

Hi, since you won't say my name, I'll be up front with you.. You're a great designer and I'm really excited to buy some of your stuff. However, as much as I enjoy your designs, I can tell when you don't put as much effort into a piece as the rest of your designs. It's not a personal attack, I don't want you to quit designing, I think you're a fantastic artist, but to me personally it seems that you put more love into some designs than others.

I guess that’s your viewpoint. I’m still learning how to texture and shade hairs, and that’s completely obvious from looking at older entries compared to my most recent entries. My style is my style, if you deem that low quality then I don’t know what else to say to you. The amount of disrespect I have witnessed on that Facebook post is shocking and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, whether it’s a new designer or a top designer. I’m so so shocked that you’d even get involved in that post. There should be nothing but support from each designer, towards each other. I love the hairs I make, I enjoy making them. Many of you have assumed I have made all these hairs to churn out wins. Which is not the case. Like I said, I enjoy making hairs and I love designing. Seeing the amount of horrible comments after I stuck up for myself is uncalled for. It feels like I’ve been tag teamed and absolutely ripped into for an opinion made by you and others. Your words on the Facebook post being ‘She’s producing a ton of low quality hairs hoping one makes it through’. It seriously does make me want to stop designing. I really do hope you and everyone else is happy on that post, as I’ve deleted so many entries already, prior to this even happening. Seeing comments such as: ‘why does that hair look like a 12 year old bought it from party city’ and the constant ridicule over some of my other designs which I worked hard on, just like every design I make. If you look back at previous contests you’ll know I design a lot, I have time to and enjoy doing so. I don’t normally get hung up on people not liking my designs but being rude and calling it constructive criticism is not okay. Constructive criticism is a criticism with something constructive added on. The original commenter could have easily said what I could have improved on in particular instead of saying my designs were ‘low quality’ and ‘thumbs down’ meaning they dislike them or they're bad. Every designers is going to have good and bad designs. For example, my male entry isn’t the best, but I don’t know how to do male items well yet, but I enjoyed making it and trying, so I’ll enter it. I’m still learning how to do plaited hairs as well as super curly hairs. I didn’t want to have to go into detail about this on the discussions thread but it got to the point where so many people were being rude I felt the need to voice it.

:haha: :haha:
This is basically saying "not to be rude" and then listing the entire dictionary of insults.
I saw your comment and a few other people's comments on facebook and it's just beyond disrespectful.
I really don't want to get myself into this but since you're up front, ill throw my two cents into this.

First of all, Tipsy is my friend and I do not condone the behaviour that was exhibited on that particular post, the amount of shade and pettiness is absolutely unbelievable.
For you to say that 'I can tell when you don't put as much effort into a piece as the rest of your designs' is just VERY rude. You don't know the amount of time or effort she put into creating something. and I refuse to bring up the comments you made on facebook because I know for a fact ill be receiving a warning so ill stay as respectful as I could.

To be honest Tim, this is the last thing i expected you to say.
Just because Tipsy is entering a lot of designs doesn't mean she's rushing anything.
Maybe she's just enjoying it and wants to improve.. and even if she's rushing her stuff, I don't see the problem.
My heart breaks for Tipsy after seeing the facebook post. Just yikes.

Thanks taffy, for sticking up for me, I really appreciate it.
I feel a whole lot better now. Having really had time to think about all the comments etc, I've come to realise that I only need my approval since I'm the one behind the computer designing, and not them. It really, really annoyed me at first - but I'll just use it as encouragement from here on out. I'm not going to let a bunch of bad eggs spoil my fun.

Don't worry about what ANYONE else thinks. It's what YOU think that counts. I've seen a LOT of "Old Masters" paintings I didn't like. If they were alive today do you think they would care what I thought?
Do what you like doing. I used to take really old family photos (some were tin type) and fix them to look better but I can't do what you do.
