Yes it does, because it's not broken. It's only perceived to be broken by people who think everyone should have easy access to everything.

Oh look! a wise comment!

People to stop complaining, mostly. Just because someone doesn't like the price of an item or the hype value of an older theme, is in my opinion no reason to come here crying. I am usually too poor for most things, and yet I don't beg for a re-release just because I want my hands on something from a closed off theme. I work for it by playing the game in it's current state. People need to work at it and evolve a little bit i think, before the complain-campaign throws another parade. But hey, that's just my cynical view. There is also worthy glitches, and real game issues, TO complain about, and that I often understand those just fine. :D I think there's a difference between sucking it up and seeing the cup half full, and trying to label things as an issue.

Really, you think I believe everyone should have easy access to everything? That's all you take from that? All I can do is shake my head.

It's what it all keeps coming back to in these threads. Not you in particular, but it's always "The economy sucks because I can't afford Item X"

And my reply is, no the economy is fine, but yes you can't afford Item X because you weren't here since 2008 or you haven't worked at it hard enough.

The real world economy is very healthy where I live, but that doesn't mean I can personally afford a BMW or should be able to just because I want to. If I really, really must have a BMW the choice are, as they are here: find a way to earn the money or do without.

As for what would fix the game's economy? I honestly don't know what would please everybody. That's a good question. I am so used to the way the game is now that I honestly don't know what a utopia would be. I like the game the way it is now, but if it could be better economy-wise I would embrace that. I imagine it's tough to fix this game's economy after how the players and zynga have left things for us all...

But raising the prices of various coin items in stores will help, people can spend coins at their own discretion, and it will work over time.

Now, I don't believe they should make coin items in stores over 500k, that would be too much lol.

But I think that the items currently in stores, that's a good pace, if they keep releasing coin items the way that they do now.

20k instore collectibles back in early 09 would equate to 2m instore collectibles today. Easy.

Problem is that would completely and totally suck for a new player.

I see I quoted before your addition....

10k per small release? Maybe in 2050 I won't have any coins anymore doing that, that is of course if I never go to the factory again nor sell anything.

Well remember, not everyone has the same amount of coins as you do. It may go faster for other people.

Then, remember, there are also the wands, both together is 30k. Imagin every small release having "wands" of their own.

Plus hairs over 15k, if you happen to like the hair.

They purge my coins and I'mma go off!!! lo

But seriously... even if they purge, I don't know about others... but I have more than enough inventory to put myself right back where I'm at... and then some! They purge...players will just charge double with what they have left to sell. A 20mil costume, will now cost ya 40mil+++.
Purging will do nothing more than cause chaos... and most likely chase off us 08 & 09 players. And that would do what for the economy?

The polls that have been run here a couple of times now... vast majority of players are from 09. We are diehards! But you mess with our coinage? Pfffffffffffffffffttttttttttttttttttt...... Not a good idea!

The problem is...in the current state there are many players who don't have to work for it. They have a plethora of coins just sitting around with nothing better to do with them so they can just buy a 30m costume on a whim, sell it to their friend for 31m who turns around and sells it to another friend for 32m.

What you have here is an artificial inflation of the value of an item just based on the fact there are people who have more coins than they'll ever spend.

Meanwhile, people have so many coins that trying to find an item in their invo to sell for only 50k is utterly and completely pointless because 50k in this game is completely pointless now.

This is why the games economy is broken.

It has nothing to do with allowing easy access to everything for everyone. It has to do with stabilizing and fixing an economy so that there will still be a game down the line.

In the current state people who have ridiculous amounts of coins have no reason to buy yocash as they can find a dealer and pay whatever rate they want. New players have no incentive to stick around when they see they start with 5k and there are items that are 5m, let alone items that are 30m.

In order to sustain long term viability things need to be fixed to a. get that coin heavy player to have to buy yocash in the future and b. give incentive for the new player to stick around long enough to actually buy yocash.

They won't do it. It's not how BVG rolls and they made a point of transferring our accounts intact.

Not purge it away by force! Lol

Purge it over time, sell YoCoin items in store higher, causing more and more coins to drop from the game, thus purging it slowly.

we need to get a daily payout 125k range for players. with our coins runs and factory. there always will be players with a high coinage in there account. nothing they can do about it , if they have the coins that are legit. you can't expect to get everything. if they want more coinage they need to buy yocash

I've said it before, I think BVG should've put a limit of coin trades so items couldn't reach the 100m or even 30m. It's too late to implement it now so that's pointless as the yoeconomy sits right now. Prices have to go down somehow but I thought that driving the ''fake'' or non legit coins away would help but prices are the same or even higher. The economy is a little bit under control since more and more 2008 costumes and wanted accesories are going down. Still, it's too high for some players as it is.

As odd as this is going to sound, in my opinion it's the availability of money… i.e., real money vs. (not) real money.

Some more stuff I think is relevant:

1. Gary said yesterday that the number of active users has substantially increased since BVG took over the game, which to me does not sound like the YoEconomy is all that daunting after all. Whether they are actual new players or old players returning from a long hiatus, they would be facing coin shortages too.

2. I've met a few actual noobs and they don't seem to worried about it either. In fact, some are already thriving. And it probably won't surprise you to learn the ones that are thriving most are the former Mini Planetarians who have joined us here. Why are they thriving...because they had the advantage coming in of knowing how the whole trading market works and how to maximize profits. But that's something ANY player can learn with time.

To recap: Not broken.

Makes sense. I guess i don't get out much/enough to notice or care what others do & spend lol. But what you say makes sense. I kind of just was saying how I play the game and not how the richies play it. But I hear ya. I hope the economy does get fixed, but I'm not countin' on anybody to fix it, really. Would be nice though.

I left the game in January 2013 and came back when BVG took over. I was a straight decorator for the most part and had never used the AH. When I came back so many themes were unavailable and I didn't have much to decorate so I started selling some of my old stuff in the AH. It was a way to play the game. I think the prices are getting better. When I started using the AH the animated star was at about 10mil, now it is in the mid 6mil. Other things too seem to have come down since the release of the unreleasables. I only see the average price in AH and the coin transfers might be distorting but it looks like it is moving in the right direction.
