I always buy a few things just to resell when they get "hot". And I am pretty good at picking at least one thing that will. I see a lot of whining about prices though. Not my fault you didn't buy it when in the store. I will keep whatever I bought to make a lot of coins as long as it takes. I'll keep it forever before I sell it for 100k.

So I'm not pointing any fingers at anyone, its just something I see a lot. I always pay the price without complaining for the things I want. I wish everyone did.

If i really really want the items im willing to pay top $$ for it

Its hard to stick to the guides when they have different prices on items

If you look at the average sale prices on there they are usually much higher than guides, but I buy a lot from there too cause it's so hard to find items in trades.

I love AU too, except the grabbing of 10% of my profit by BVG which I think helps drive the prices up in the AU too. Players want to make a profit and cover that 10%.

As I see it, it's like real life. I decide to do a Car Boot sale, which I understand is similar to a Garage Sale in the US.

I price my items and wait for people to buy. After a while, if my items do not sell I have a decision to make. Do I drop my prices and see them (hopefully) sell at a bit less than I wanted, or do I stick at that price and take the risk of them going home with me at the end?

If I drop the prices, by how much? How much of a drop in price am I willing to accept?

If I take them home with me, how desperate am I for the potential money? Will I be able to sell them at a later date? I will I have to store them in definitely? Would it be easier just to dump them in a skip and be done?

Of course it is easier here because we are not talking real money, and we don't have to worry about storage. :)

Um actually, I kind of disagree about the "garage sale" analogy. Maybe if I'm selling my very cheap coin or freebies stuff, then yes my price would go down, but selling HIGH END items (cost the owner a lot of cash) , In HIGH DEMAND , or Hard to find Rares, would be very different. I don't know about in England, but in the US you wouldn't have a "garage sale" for those types of items, and the value/costs of the item usually goes up NOT down! :D

totally agree with this, but theres one more thing even more annoying & that when items do go kinda high & sought after, then theres always a few who sell so damn low, just to make coins quick :x
i see this happening all the time you can pick up a menorah for like 400k now ! good for buyers but not good for all the sellers out there !
crowns & limes for way too low prices because 'some' wanna make a quick buck ....... just lowering that item in value, everyone can look @ guides & even look in events to see what kinda price that item is selling for ... but why oh why do some choose to under-cut EVERYONE elseby like 400-500k !
i just dont get it

That's interesting to know. :)

Here in the UK, in some areas we have large Car Boot sales where they sell antiques as well as lower end stuff and they can go for hundreds of pounds.

not really because we cant tell people what to do with there own items. people don't like to be boss around.

the price guide also added the yocash rate on there website now. also we can't tell them what yocash rate to sell at. there own item they can sell it what ever price they pick at.
