You're right..

Me for example, I bought some since BVG took over. Will I be able to every month? Probably not, so the badge will come and it will go. It's really not a biggie.

all players are equal!!!

It's a lovely fantasy to believe that all players are equal but if you had been here longer, you would see the ridicule of those who are new and the persecution of those who have been here long enough to have a lot. The new players are given grief for being noobs and the others are treated like snobs because they are "rich" regardless of how nice they are. It's awful and this is just another way to broaden that divide.

i would disagree, for one this is a new account,.i closed my old account. i have played the game since mid 2008. old players have been accused of being greedy and new players have been called noobs. i have worked my way to where i am today and i give back by gifting to new players. i have never, ever looked down to any player

I don't care what anyone thinks. I like it. It was to show BVG's appreciation just like other business' do.

to show BVG's appreciation? it's YOUR money that determined what color badge you have. I think you ment it is for US to show our appreciation for the game by how much money we pay each month.

Greg gave us the reasons why and as for my gold badge, I don't need to show MY appreciation for the game with a badge showing how much money Ive spent. I show it every time I play and every time I click on buy yocash. The gold badge can stay or go as far as Im concerned and I do understand the argument against it, but this is in the hands of TPTB and not up to me whether they stay or go. HAGN :)

Personally it is fine with me to have the supporters badges but for those who don't want them it might be good to give them a way to hide them.

actually, we used to be able to see how many coins and yc all of our neighbors had.. This is not much diff. and who cares, just because I am gold now, doesn't mean next month I won't be "nothing". Maybe its my age, but people shouldn't care about what others think!

I think like most things online - It needs a privacy setting.

We should have the right and the choice to decide whether we want to turn it on or off as a feature. Like having a siggy or choosing not to. Like having a location or choosing not to. Why is this any different...

Im on the fence but leaning towards a yes. I find it ironic that just this morning I read a tweet that said something along the lines of "If people feel left out, they'll spend their last to fit in". If BVG did the badges to truly honor their cash supporting players and not to entice others to buy coins/yocash than I 100% support the idea. The thing that bothers me (and from the looks of thing bothers others as well) is that the badges have the potential to offend/belittle non-paying players. If you just starting playing yesterday and spent $100 on Yocash, does that make you a better more supporting player than a person that has been playing consistently since 08-09 myspace days? Maybe we could find a way to show appreciation to all players, afterall we all support this game in various ways. Just my two cents. Please feel free to comment :) would love to hear your opinions.

I bet your 14 or 15 using your parents money to get that fancy super duper glowing "Gold Supporter Badge", you have the badge, but we don't know how you got it. Most of us have better things like Gas, bills, or food to pay with the money we get in. So in that case, how about you make your own money, buy a house, a car, whatever, and get back to saying what you have been saying. I bet you'll learn only through that way and method.

I don't think it has to do with people worrying about what other's think as much as it's a privacy type thing. Some people do not want others to know what they spend each month. Also people's spending habits shouldn't be publicized in a way make some feel ashamed compared to their fellow yo and here's an example: you buy yc, but I cannot afford to buy it. instead, I work my butt off each day farming coins and resorting to sell my precious costume for coins, just so I can have enough coins to buy a yc item from you via your yc:coin ratio. So you now have a badge here on the forums b/c you buy yc, yet I worked hard to get the coins for the yc item i bought from you and it looks like i do not 'support' this game as much as you do.

Also, in a few other threads, some people's attitudes have turned down right ugly b/c they possess a badge while others don't. they have a superiority complex now. :(

How is the 'everyone is equal' attitude any different than the holier than thou attitude?

Some of us don't want to be 'recognized' for spending money. I was perfectly happy when I was silently spending my money.

Goodness what a firestorm. I don't care if we have them or we don't. I'll have one occasionally but not regularly. I'm pretty darn good at getting others to buy my yocash for me via the auction house. I still have 167.

I also don't care if someone thinks they are better than me.
