I have always tried to help new people and give them a start. I go to events that say they are new and need help. More and more lately they are young kids. I just met one who was 9 years old. I really didn't think the game was for kids that young and they worry me that the "wrong" person will meet them and they will get in trouble. This 9 year old had started moments before (at least that's what she said) and she was begging for coins and hair and things to "make her look rich" already. Zynga used to have (at least we were told this) a kids server for the young ones to play - is that not the case with BVG? I feel bad for new people (of any age) because it is hard to start out, but wasn't part of the fun when we all started the working for things and the excitement when we finally were able to buy things? I do meet new people who just want advice and maybe an outfit to "unnoob" themselves and I normally give them more including coins because they aren't begging - I just don't know how to impress on people that you don't have to be "rich" the minute you start the game - they don't realize they are missing out on half the fun and challenge. Is there actually an age limit on YoWorld? Thanks!

Yes, there used to be a kids server and adult server but after BVG got the game the separation no longer exists. So now people of all ages are mixed together on the same servers.

Thanks for bring this up ....

I believe this stems from the use of Club Penguin by players that have left Yo (ok, banned) -- to promote the game within kids games creates a new member group that they can take advantage of -- since all you need to do is make a new account, you can then create a group of young players so you can then have a steady stream of people that you can take advantage of by charging group dues or worse

Not sure we can do much about it ... it's comes down to Facebook and their unwillingness to verify ages

OH Facebook age limit is no younger then 13 in most areas in the world, also even though Yo started as a 18 an above app - it has been 13 or above since around April of 09

Even when we had separate servers, kids still got on the adult servers all the time, so I'm not sure how much it really helped. The age minimum is supposed to be 13 but since it's not enforced...

Respect to the age, I think that children should not play on the same server that adult people. There are many bad people unfortunately ... also should be an age limit, although obviously lying on fb to create an account.

On the topic of start playing, I get very angry that new people will treat it as it does most people despising and laughing at them. We were all newbies and have progressed in the game gradually to become what we are today.

I hate the lack of respect from some people.

That was one of the problems with Zynga at the end - too many young ones mixed in with the adults. The little ones have no concept of how buying and selling works and they were filling the events with price gauged items and begging for coins and rich items for free. I wish they could come out with a game for them so that the adults could play without wading through all of that. BVG can you guys do anything with this? Thanks for all you are doing!!

If they do create both severs again it not going to work. Because they can lie to get on adult severs.

Exactly. I use to spend a lot of time at Altons and it was surprising (in the beginning) to find out so many of them weren't even teenagers, or barely teenagers. Unfortunately, haven't separate servers really served no purpose at all.

I am sorry to say but in my opinion server separation is a waste of money and resources. Older people can easily get into children server and children can easily get into adult server. Tell you what, I know in my town almost every 4th, 5th and 6th, 7th and 8th graders lied about their age lied about their age just to be able to join facebook. Everyone has a facebook now. I would just suggest parents to monitor their children and for players to report activites they don't like in game.

YoWorld according to our owners is a game for that is non-combative and for women over 30

So I feel very comfortable, as long as I stay around people I know .... I'm very careful not to get to close to anyone that might seem to be in their teens, I dont want any parent to get the wrong idea

Keep in mind that some will say they are only 9 when in fact they are 49.

I know 50 year olds that act 9 in here. I honestly no longer care that kids are in here. I feel bad for em, but I ain't their daddy or their mama. If parents are dumb enough to give kids unsupervised access to the web, they get what they get. I ain't baby sitting none of em.

With the small amounts of players in yo, I think having merged servers might be the only way to keep the servers busy.

Truthfully I never even took in consideration the different servers. I used to see people saying they're on an adult server but I actually never knew what they meant. Even though facebook in general has a specific age required to sign up, people still lie about their ages. As to what WillyC wrote I agree because a lot of people left so maybe combined the two are in the best interests of the company?

I agree .... if I dont get them any attention I hope they go back to Club Penguin and other games designed to protect them

When I tell the kids I'm 63, I get responses that range from "cool" to "are you serious?????" - even get an occasional "you know how to play games??" lol
