Edit: Please don't argue, I started this thread to post some of the things I've been going through since starting a few weeks ago. Nothing wrong with discussing I just don't want any bad blood in the thread. Thank you ;)

Edit 2: Please if you are going to post, read the other comments so we don't bring up things that have already been solved :P

This is a random topic, but I thought it would be interesting to see if there are other new players on the forums with these problems.
I just want to clarify that this thread is not about complaining at all :), just about bringing up certain things new 2014 players face when starting Yoworld.

One of the first and most frustrated problems I've experienced being a new player,
is that everyone accuses me of being an alternate account.
Therefore kicking me from contest rooms in-game and always being ignored no matter what I say.

Another 2014 player problem is finding furniture made before 2014, no matter how many events I've posted in trading no one ever seems to have or be selling old furniture/decor making my theme choices extremely limited.
But this problem can be solved if I ever get lucky enough to have Yoangels gift me, but I don't expect anything for free.

A problem most 2014 players have is lack of coins, which I thankfully didn't have to deal with as much because I have 3 cousins who play and they helped me out when I started.
But if I wasn't helped out, doing jobs all the time would still hail hardly anything. With all the prices of things being multiple thousands It would take a new player a very long and tedious time to earn enough to buy things for their character and house.
(Unless they buy Yocash of course.)

Thank you for reading, and have a blessed day! :D

This is a problem for anyone not just new players. A lot of people search for months for items.

I always love that new players immediately get a wish list going and ask for YoAngels.

Very true, I just used 2014 players as an example because players from 2013 and back had the chance to buy the items while they were in the store :P

I've posted in a few wishlist threads but haven't been gifted, which is fine because I can't expect something from nothing

We all have bills and food ..
Some of us have kids and grand kids
and college tuition...

Fact of the matter is:
If you have internet access to play online games
then there's money for $5 or $10 a month in YoCash
to help support the game.

If you can't afford that.. then you probably shouldn't
be expending cash on the internet and put it into
"food and bills". ...

just sayin.....

With that being said, it really is difficult being
a new player in 2014. I'm glad I started when the
game was new and worked my way up. I remember
having to save up for a long time to get a laptop for just
a few coins.

This game certainly isn't about instant gratification.

That's not necessarily true. A lot of times internet access is necessary. I am a college student and I have to have internet access to take online classes, check my schools website for grades, access to email, and even strictly on campus classes have online assignments I have to attend to (due on weekends). Lots of jobs require internet access too. The internet can be used for entertainment but also to get work done. Yes everyone has bills and food lol, but some people are on a budget. That doesn't mean internet cannot be a part of that budget. They can pay for internet and choose that it is a necessity or luxury they are willing to pay for, just as they can decide yocash is out of their budget or a luxury they cannot afford. I really hate the shaming on buying/not buying yocash. I often feel like I am not as valued as other players, because I do not consistently buy yocash. People say oh well just buy your own... well it isn't always that simple. I don't feel like it is anyone's place to pass judgment on other people's buying decisions without walking in their shoes first. Sure it is just 5-10 dollars but if I spent 5-10 dollars on every special food item I want at the grocery store, or coffee, or new shirt, then I would be broke. I try to be as frugal as possible. In fact, I saved over $1000 so I could go to college this summer without financial aid. If I would have just bought my own yocash every month, or every other little thing I want, then that number would be majorly deflated lol. Every dollar adds up! A lot of people are in debt too...

Well I would not go as far to say "all of us have bills" because the target demographic of this game is mostly children and teens.
But I get your point and their parents do have bills and still manage to give them money for digital currency.

After reading what you said I should have rephrased myself, pardon me for that. I would rather 10 dollars go towards a child or a gift for a birthday or in my situation with my family involved in the Salvation Army, a few plates of food for people less fortunate than towards a facebook app.
That being said I don't have a problem with people wanting to support the game and in fact I say more power to you! All I'm saying is if I had more income after all the necessary things needed to live, I would indeed support the game more often. But for the time being things are pretty much paycheck to paycheck, and I know there are a lot of people out there that are in the same situation.
Summed up: Some people have more expendable income than others

Thank you for your reply by the way! I enjoy viewing people's thoughts even if they differ from my own:)

You're right.
I give special exemption to college students.
I've got 3 in college right now.

It's the only exemption I'll give to the "Buy YoCash" rule.

I never said older players did get the items, I said they had the chance to.
Whereas someone who just started, has 0% chance to buy these old items in the furniture store.

However they can still buy the older item from a player, it'll just cost a whole lot more than when it first came out and if that player started recently they most likely will not be able to afford it :P

But I understand this game is not about instant gratification but more about building up

This is quite random I started in 08 played throughout 09 took a break for 2010 came back in 2011 skipped 2012 and then when I came back my avi was set as a girl, which it always was which was when I thought to myself why In the world did I set it to a girl. So when I contacted zynga they said they can revert the gender and I am like woo yes! So they do it and It rests my whole yoworld.

when I was a new player there were all sorts of folks with all the latest and best items, gorgeous homes, great hair and better clothes than I had. It takes time to build up what you have and I had to wait for a lot of items that I wanted since at the time I was pretty broke. Now I'm not atm and can afford to buy items I like. So things really have not changed, its always been like this. When someone starts a new game, they are not going to be able to get the same things that someone who has played longer has. It should be an accepted fact. One day you will no longer be a new player and you will be able to have things too. Some folks never buy yocash and they work hard to eventually build up their inventory and it takes time.
Welcome aboard and I hope you stick around, you can still have fun in this game even if you can't buy the latest fad going around. :D

They reset your entire account along with your items?

But that goes for every player ever starting to play this game after the very first items were discontinued. Look at it from the bright side. By July 2015, you've had a whole year of being able to shop in store, and those who just start playing will face the exact same problems you are facing now. :-)
