It seems to me, that with all the talk lately about the current unreliability of the AH that this is a progressing problem. As more players turn to the AH in a bid to off-load their inventory - the original traffic that the AH was intended to deal with, must have been surpassed by now.
So I was thinking if the AH went offline and some time was spent on it to make it a premium feature within in the game so as to ensure reliability, effective notifications, proper average sale calculations, more filters . advanced search, and when it returned it would be a pay to use feature this could help facilitate a dedicated team required to ensure this aspect of the game is always working optimally. There are three obvious advantages for a Pay to Use AH:
(1) Players who are having to pay for a feature will be more motivated into pricing their items so as to GET a sale and not waiting on the off chance they may be able to rob someone blind of coins. (Better Prices)
(2) The items used to clutter the AH and add to the ever increasing pages will be decreased almost immediately. Making the AH a real place to pick up deals and hassle free trading (think eBay
![Laughing ](https://forums.yoworld.com/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
). (Less Clutter of Items)
(3) Dedicated support and maintenance team working on the AH ( Reliability of Service)
An objection to this idea could be:, what about the players who are penalised by not having the ability to pay for an in- game feature - however, we survived long enough without an AH and players are still able to effectively trade within the game.
Anyway what do you think....Pay or Not to Pay. ?????
Edit to add in case you don't read my later posts: -.. I am not talking about the commissions which are currently in place and are paid only after a sale has been made but instead of those, a flat rate cost for both the buyer and seller. Thereby increasing the revenue the AH generates to provide for the maintenance of the premium feature.
