I never owned one but I thought I heard it used to do something and it wasn't just a table with a red star. Can anyone tell me? If it's supposed to do something, can we get it fixed?

There are tiles that were meant to go with it that are Unreleased. They come in Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, and Red, but only the Red ones work. Also, if you rotate your table twice in the same direction, instead of a Red Star it will show a Blue Triangle.

BVG needs to sell the tiles that go along with the Table... Maybe one of the Vicking's will see this and try the table and tiles out to see what happens.
