I'm sorry that this happened to you, but I don't really consider this a scam? People sell stuff that is in the store all the time. I see he has quite a few of the items, so maybe he just wanted to be rid of them. He has an auction and maybe can get more than what he would get if he simply sold it back to the game but less than what it originally cost. I can't read his mind, but it really isn't his fault if you don't know the item is in the store and how much it costs. We have to take responsibility of our own actions sometimes. I see you joined in 2011, so I would think you would know better. Again, sorry it happened, but a lesson learned I suppose. I've learned quite a few the hard way myself..........

but the whole point of this situation is that the items that are in stores that say 20% of until September of last year needs to be removed so players do not miss understand the items in the game..............

The themes that are not closed but went on a discount sale for a certain period of time doesn't mean they were supposed to be closed.

But I agree that the expired themes shouldn't take space in store since it's confusing. They need to remove those discount labels on existing ones, remove all expired themes and sort them according to release date from newest to oldest. Stores need a good clean up.

Sorry that happened to you...

People like using those cheap coin bears in Three Musketeers to try and "scam" other players.

I've seen it at least a dozen times now.

People need to take personal responsibility in knowing what is and isn't in stores.

I totally get what you are saying and I agree that those items need to be removed. But I also know that Zynga should have done that and didn't and now they've handed this mess off to BVG. Now they are faced with deciding what needs to be done first and foremost and every time someone has a problem like this, THAT problem needs to be moved to the top of the "to do" list.....
I still believe that it is up to us, as players, especially OLDER players, to be aware of what is going on in the game. Now, having said all of that, I don't know what you bought but if you need your coins back, I would be happy to meet you in game and give them back to you. All you got to do is set up an event and I'll be right there. :)

Thanks That is very kind of you :P , but I do not expect others to repay when the guy who is doing it should know better, its just very confusing right now with everything going on in game and I don't have the time to go threw everything every single day, its just another lesson learned, I appreciate ur respect. I think I will wait it off for awhile until this is issue with the stores is fixed.

I agree on the stores and whats open and whats closed is quite confusing. I did this to myself last year. I was under the impression the Medieval Fantasy theme was gone from stores and spent loads of unneccesary coins snagging stuff from AH, only to realize the theme had not yet left the store. SMH And LOL I just realised the other day the Spanish theme is still open. I have to admit, the stores themselves need some serious tweaking because I can never keep up with the themes, names of items, etc. I feel for ya, really. I gave myself a few quick swift kicks in the pants after realizing my own stupidity. :P

That kind of stuff is all over the game. I even fell for it. I bought a three musketeers blue chandelier thinking it was from a closed out theme. I saw the name in the trade and should have poofed but I agreed to buy them. Then, I went back to the furniture store and re familiarized myself with everything.

One of the biggest scams I've seen is people selling the Napa and Caribbean stuff for way more. Trying to get thousands for these items.

Yea I got ripped off the other day, I seen this Darlek lookin robot figured it was from the space theme, for some reason I thought space left stores. I asked hm, she said 17k so I really wanted that Darlek so I said okay traded went to try to find it on Yorehab to see if I had got a decent deal on it....and its not there so I knew then ahh its in stores...then I thought hmm maybe it was yc item, so I checked stores..nope...was like 799 coins. I need to take some time at some point and look through the stores again to refresh myself on what is still in them. lol was totally my own fault for not checking before the trade but oh well. It happens from time to time.

Exactly.
I recently went through every item in every shop to get caught up on game.
I also found out there were still some hairs in the hair salon.
Why do people need to be spoon fed?
Do the work yourselves.
I'm sure BVG will get caught up with the items as soon as they do a new release.
They have more important matters to take care of right now.

I said "scam" and put it in quotes because well, the seller knows full well the item is still in store and is preying upon those who don't know what's in store and what isn't. So it technically is a scam but an avoidable scam if you do your homework. Just because some idiot wants 100k for 1k coin teddy bear doesn't mean you have to give it to them. :)

The seller may not know they are in stores.

Sometimes when I price stuff, and I"m being lazy and I just want to get rid of stuff, I just say "make an offer" and I usually take whatever they offer. If they insist that I give them a price I'll just pick any random number.

The same sometimes when I'm doing prices. I'll ask a friend "how much is fair for that" a friend might say 200K but they don't know any more than I do and we are too lazy to look it up sometimes..

I was selling some stuff that I honestly thought was not in stores about 2 weeks ago. I had just put 5K on each item in the room. After I Had sold a bunch of items someone told me it was still in stores and I looked at that point and decided I better figure out what we still in the stores. I felt bad for the people that I'd already sold to but there's nothing you can do about it. Also when I went to price a house full of stuff I wanted to sell I found that both price guides varied so much and some of the items I had weren't even on the price guide. So it's just a guessing game.

The point is, any scenerio of things could be happening. Lack of knowledge. Laziness. General Uncaring. You can't attribute to Malice that which is likely done in Ignorance.

The only way to protect your own self is to just be knowledgeable yourself. Always take responsibility for yourself and your actions. And Ask as many questions as possible.
